King Mez ONLY drops gems. He’s a monster. He produced this track as well which is mighty impressive. I love the choral loop along with the guitar. Be on the lookout for the new album, My Everlasting Zeal.
Starvin’ B x Spit Gemz – Rhyme Burial (Video)
Man, these guys kill it each and every time. The Opposition and Starvin’ B are bringing back that NYC street mentality in well thought out dope verses. If you haven’t copped Starvin’ B’s album, The Food Chain, you need to stop thinking about it and do it.
Single You Out: Skeezo – Big Bang (ft. Alpha Faktion)
This another tough joint that has sat in my inbox for way too long. This is my first exposure to Skeezo I think, but my initial impression is that he has the skills to make it a long way in the game. Alpha Faktion also represents nicely. The beat is the handiwork of ALTERBEATS who is known to drop some bangers.

Single You Out: L PRO – The Cypher
This cut is pretty laid back until you hit the chorus and then L PRO starts to shake things up a bit. I like his delivery. His lyricism was on point so I thought I would spread the word. This cut is coming off his forthcoming album, Vertigo which is set to drop, for FREE, on March 15th.
Awkword – Bars & Hooks (ft. Sean Price, The Kid Daytona, The Incomparable Shakespeare) (Video)
Yo Awkword! Can we get that World View album in it’s entirety? I’ve got some dolo to to put towards the cause!
Anyways…back to the song at hand. The emcees are playing the pied piper over this flute, just leading the masses. I also am reminded during this track how slept on The Kid Daytona is. That was a dope verse. All verses were on point…but, damn…his was off the richter.
Make sure you check my interview with Awkword if you never had a chance. Dude opens up…
Single You Out: Jesse Abraham – Back Off
You don’t know Jesse Abraham. You have no right to judge him. So back off! Well, that’s the gist of the track but it’s orchestrated in an extremely entertaining style as only Mr. Abraham could pull off. I talk about unique flows from time to time and this man most definitely fits in that conversation. You will never mistake Jesse Abraham for another artist. That’s why I always try to feature his music. It’s tough to find dope artists who bask in originality. Blam!
Uno Hype – Train of Thought (Video)
I have been sleeping on this artist. I don’t know what I thought he was about, or why I haven’t checked his music, but that will soon change. I like these drums over the electronic pulse. It really lets Uno Hype showcase his lyrical prowess. His flow is impressive.
If you like this song, check his mixtape on DJ Booth entitled FXCK THE HYPE
Single You Out: Nico The Beast – Deja Vu
I guess I missed this one. It says on the Bandcamp page that this was actually released back in February. Well, better late than never. Nico The Beast has a cold flow. And when you couple that flow with Vanderslice production you have a tough track.
Single You Out: Donnie Darko – Appreciation
There is so much heat coming out of the NSD camp these days! But this may be one of my favorite Donnie Darko tracks. This is the pace of track that he sounds the best on it. You can also hear his passion for hip hop on this joint. Sutter Kain is a Top 5 producer in my opinion. On Appreciation he finds another ill sample and adds the boom bap. Great song…

Single You Out: Classic The Legend x Pawcut – Steve
Ok. This isn’t really their single. But I am making it their debut here on HHD because I think it’s a dope track from a project they shared with me over the weekend. This particular song is on one of those vivid stories type steez. Classic The Legend is the emcee and Pawcut is the producer. They make a good combo for their album, The Hungry People. I can really appreciate the cinematic production and the raw rhymes. It’s something that I may not have time to review in it’s entirety but I think it is something people should check.
