My first question after watching this video is how J.R. The Beast not more known? I mean, that is one COLD FLOW. He’s got a great delivery over this Araabmuzik banger of beat. Song is fire. I am going to be on the lookout for some more material from the man.
Single You Out: Local-MU12 – Champion (ft. Skyzoo)
Locl-MU12 once again drops a gem on us with the release of the single, Champion, featuring Skyzoo. Real McKoy laces a proper beat for Stryfe, Broadway Barrett, and Skyzoo to rock over. Everything sounds really good about this joint. That is a great indicator, because the collective is dropping it’s debut album, Labor Day on September 3rd.
Tenacity X Fratello Beatz – What! (Video)
I have bigged up the ABnormal about as much as I can, but the team of Tenacity and Fratello Beatz keep coming with releasing a video single for the track, What!. On this track you can really feel the cohesion and chemistry between emcee and producer. Tenacity addresses a multitude of social and environmental issues over somber production from Fratello Beatz.
Single You Out: Tragedy tha Beast – Love U 2 Death (Genius Picaso)
How have I not heard of Tragedy tha Beast? I am disappointed in myself, because this man has a lot of talent. He narrates the tale of Eddie and Keisha which is probably a tale that gets told several times a day. It’s really powerful. I mean incredibly powerful! You just have to listen to fully appreciate. The energy Tragedy puts into this track is amazing and just so happens to coincide with Genius Picaso’s epic beat with hard hitting snares. This is the last single (I wish I would have heard the first three) from his forthcoming album, The Manifestation.
Single You Out: Benefit – Man Of My Word (ft. Joe Budden)
B.E.N.E.F.I.T ramping up the promo for hip upcoming album, Executioner Of Time. This time he is joined by the veteran Slaughterhouse emcee, Joe Budden. He also has J. Cardim on the beat. So would you expect anything less than a banger? I wouldn’t. He also has a new mixtape dropping next week so be on the lookout for that. EMS in the building!
Single You Out: Awon & Phoniks – Midas Touch
Awon & Phonics have this new album out entitled, Return To The Golden Era. By virtue of the title’s name you should no what’s the aim of the album and the sound it’s trying to accomplish. It is really tight all the way through and if you are digging the sound of, Midas Touch, you ought to check out the whole project. The production and the flows do not let you down at any point.
Mr. Live x Earl Blaize – Flipped and UN-ed You (Video)
I just posted this single a few days ago, and yes I was late on it. Now the video is here and I am right on time. Mr. Live and Earl Blaize liven up the part on this sleepy subway ride in the NYC. This looks like a fun video to have shot, and the birthday hats added sublime flavor. Don’t sleep on Mr. Live…he is dishing up something proper come September.
Single You Out: Virtuoso – Ted Koppel (ft. M-Dot and V.Knuckles)
I hate you if you don’t like this track. How do you like that for journalism? I have direct disdain for your terrible taste. Anyway…this joint is the best track, in my humble opinion, off of Virtuoso’s joint venture with the Snowgoons, CoVirt Ops: Infantry. If you like those hard hitting snares and tough rhymes, this album is for you. Also bear witness to M-Dot’s verse…dude shines every time he blesses the MIC.
Single You Out: Almighty – High Price Shots (ft. Vinnie Paz, Bronze Nazareth, Canibus & Planet Asia)
The Almighty is back with a new line up but with the same lyrical potency. It’s a pretty diverse group of emcees with Vinnie Paz, Bronze Nazareth, Canibus, and Planet Asia teaming up but it comes together pretty cohesive.
The new album, The 2nd Coming, is dropping on August 13th and has a grip of ill features on it. I am going to check it out for sure.
Adlib – One Of The Few (Video)
This is why I love hip hop. Adlib puts that emotion into each and every bar while the director of video really makes it personal for us as viewers to have him holding a child in one scene and a gun in the other. He talks about real struggle and the ups and downs of life. What more can a real fan ask for other than real music?
Adlib’s new album, Bad Newz, drops next Tuesday.
