Chill Moody and Apollo The Great link to rock over this Hank McCoy beat to provide that cumulative heat rock effect. I am not entirely up on Chill Moody immediately but he does his thing quite proper, and Apollo the Great is well known around these parts. If you remember correctly, his 2012 album, Hennessy Diaries was our top album from last year. You know the deal…
I have been sitting on this for about a week, waiting for the opportune time to drop it on the site and it kept getting bumped. But I am putting an end to the stalling now. Nostic links up with Maryland producer Chisom Uzosike to give y’all a soulful jam about overcoming life’s obstacles no matter what might occur. Joining him on the track are Canadian affiliates NapzMeka (U.G.L.I) and Phakt. What sets this track apart from the other is simple attention to detail. This is mos definitely one of them joints you’ll have to rewind! Enjoy!
Latest video from Poe Mack and D.R.U.G.S. Beats’ collaborative album, Poe Mack On D.R.U.G.S. Poe Mack is thinner and lighter and his projects sell faster than flameless candles. (You’ll either get it or you won’t.)
I am not sure where this track is from or destined to be, but it’s definitely worth sharing. The production is coming from Soul Professa and as you can see from the title we have 9th Prince and Inspectah Deck in charge of bar droppin’. The cut is a concoction of soul, funk, and grime, so if that sounds good to you, make sure you cop the single. I especially like the way the Professa chops up the production between the 16s. Dope.
I had missed this track from a few weeks ago and it’s too dope just to leave it to chance that you may have caught it by now. The beat by Digerati is really a showstopper. The bass line on this track is pulsating while he incorporates so many other different sounds. The electronica almost sounds like it was lifted from an early Nintendo video game. While all this is going on Thesis43 and Apathy execute their verses to perfection.
This song can be found on Thesis43’s The Era EP.
This is yet another dope banger that you can find off DJ Low Cut’s France’s Finest NY Minute project. The beat is reworked by the Grim Reaperz and of course the verbals are by Queen’s own, Shaz Illyork. If you don’t own this project yet, you should cop it now. Loads of dope tracks.
Very few people approach religion as unabashed as Co$$. He does it without being abrasive but really sets the table for the listener to think. He is a keen observer and a thinking man which really sets him apart. That, and he is an extremely gifted emcee. Black Hockey Players is set to drop soon and I will provide more information on that as it becomes available. DJ Mentos is on the boards.
CuzOH! Black keeps delivering dope joints for me to post on the blog. This time he teams up with DMV stalwart, Wordsmith for a fun and funky track. I always like to hear cool tracks to vibe to and these guys did it correctly. Strada is a pretty slept on producer. Although I have only heard him with DMV cats I think he has a sound that a lot of artists should be looking for.
Cyrano Sinatra rocks mics over long time collaborator, J.Slikk’s production. That production is very low key and subtle which allows you to focus on Sinatra’s verbals which happen to be pretty fresh. I know I have to update it but you can also check out the discography I did on Sinatra last year.
Earth is old news, my destination is heaven….
Nutso is cranking out those bangers! You know this! This time he teams up with yet another dope European producer. This time it’s Swedish producer, Terminal Five. This song is full of that necessary dopeness. I hope we get an album soon from Nutso and he can bury these nonbelievers.
