Bronze Nazareth and Recognize Ali have this new album out that you need to get familiar with, Season of the Se7en. Both of these artists have established themselves as ‘elite’ in their own craft and they unite to bring you something rather spectacular. As you can hear on the track, God Aura, both artists are bringing that energy to the craft as Nazareth laces a banger with horns orchestrating the way, while Ali fires gritty line after gritty line at you. You certainly need to peep.
Eddie Kaine x Wavy Da Ghawd – Not A Game (Video)
Video from Eddie Kaine and Wavy Da Gawd’s project, Twelve 24. And Not A Game is that raw hip hop where Wavy leads with the flute and then hits you with the drums, while Kaine gets relentless with those bars. I’ve been very impressed with Eddie Kaine and always check for his project. You should all be on the same vibe.
Single You Out: A-Sharp x Daniel Joseph – Play For Keeps

Oddly enough I was just thinking: “Where has Daniel Joseph been?”. as I was moving my music library to higher digital grounds. It’s been years since I have heard him on a song, and here he is on some A-Sharp production….and it sounds damn good!
Beneficence & Confidence – Jerz To The Jugular (feat. El Da Sensei & DJ Kaos (of The Artifacts) (Video)
Beneficence and Confidence have a collaborative album out now entitled Stellar Mind. I just copped it last night and while I have yet to listen to it in it’s entirety, if it’s anything like this cut in it’s consistency, I am in for an audible treat. Hip Hop in it’s purest essence with El Da Sensei dropping a guest verse to round out the verses. Check it out!
Single You Out: Double Life (L*Roneous x Gennessee) – Return Of The Kings

L*Roneous and Gennessee are indeed Double Life. And if you’ve been listening to independent hip hop for as long as i have, you are probably going to recognize the name. These artists were at the forefront of music scene we see today…they released their vinyl single, Revolutions, in 1997. That was literally at the precipice of the independent movement as I know it. But as it looks now, Double Life stands the test of time. These guys sound brilliant together. L*Roneous captivates me with his wordplay every time and I stay waiting for him to drop some new music. He is simply unique and his style stands out effortlessly. And Gennessee has a more raw delivery and owns his sixteens from beginning to end. The two sounds really nice together.
To be honest….I couldn’t even make it passed the third cut on the album before I was determined to make this post. This isn’t just good…this is superior music. I am not sure how many of the songs were in the vault, or how many are new, but the energy and quality are on full display. Check out the album, SHANTARAM, and peep the cut, Return Of The Kings, below….you will NOT regret this recommendation.
Ty Farris x Machacha – Slave In The Night (Video)
Not many are grinding harder than Ty Farris, right now. He’s dropping an assortment of dope projects with talented producers. Slave In The Night is off of his most recent venture with producer Machacha called, Dark Nights & D Fitteds. This one has a very dark vibe to it and is night stalking music if you get my drift. But the constant here is Farris’ command of the language, and constructing bars in death dosages. This is an artist who can flip on any assortment of production and illustrate what is means to emcee. Check out that project above!
Skanks the Rap Martyr – Legend of The Eyepatch (Video)
Whooooooo! Yep….Skanks is back with some heat again…and you are going to want to stand by the furnace and warm up because he constantly laces dope sixteens with incomparable bravado and talent. He can be your hero, or your worst nightmare depending on where you stand…I would prefer to be the former. Legend Of The Eyepatch is real and it’s coming in full force once his new album, M.O.S.T., drops…you’ve been warned.
Single You Out: Gawds – Bonafide Hustler

Bonafide Hustler comes from one of my favorite albums so far from this year, which is impressive on so many levels. First, I am so unaware of who the Gawds actually are, but after hearing this album, I had put in some research. Regulus and Pinpoint are emcees from Baltimore (which has exhibited exponential talent as of late) and DJ Rocky Styles. These guys are something special and have put together a great product in their album, Gloria. This album knocks from beginning to end, which is saying something because it is long by today’s standards at 20 tracks.
I don’t have a lot of time and I like to think that when I do take the time to write about something new these days, it means something. This is a MUST HAVE project. If you love this track (as it is my favorite) then you will love the album. Please check it out on Cocareef Records.
Milano Constantine x Showbiz – Cavalli Champ (Video)
Milano Constantine and Showbiz put the rest of the world on notice as the Cavalli Champ which is the first song on their most recent project., Eating But Still Hungry. If you are familiar with these two artists body of work, I shouldn’t have to say too much here. Milano’s flow is top shelf and to date has not put out anything less than stellar, and Showbiz is a legend beatsmith. So let’s let the word “champ” ring true here.
M-Dot – No Excuses (prod. by Snowgoons) (Video)
Nobody is better equipped to talk about what it takes to make it in the game better than M-Dot. All these other artists looking at hip hop with the “fast food approach” but they weren’t prepared or equipped to take it there through hard work. And as the old adage goes…hard works always trumps talent. But with M-Dot you don’t have to split hairs there, you get to see what happens when hard work accompanies talent!
This is another video single from the standout album, egO anD The eneMy produced by another incomparable artist, the Snowgoons.
