Blaq Poet – Looking For Trouble (ft. Vinnie Paz, Chino XL & Spit Gemz) (Video)

We dropped the single for this cut not all that long ago.  Blaq Poet now releases the video which is a montage of a variety of flicks to reflect the verses of the song.    There are too many scenes to list.  The song of course stands on it’s own merits.  You can’t go wrong in having Vinnie Paz, Chino XL, and Spit Gemz on your track.   That’s a win every time.   Blaq Death is slated for a November 12th release date.  Make sure you check for that.

Termanology – Straight Off The Block (ft. DJ Kay Slay, Sheek Louch & Lil Fame) (Video)

This is coming straight off of Term’s G.O.Y.A. project.  And when they call out hard body hip hop this is to which they refer.  Sheek Louch and Lil Fame each our contributors to this cut, which leads me to mention two things:

1)  Termanology is spitting some of the best bars of his career right now.  I have heard him deliver several dope cameos and this album really is the culmination of that dope sound.

2) Lil Fame has to be considered one of the most consistent emcees EVER.  He’s been spitting this dope shit through two decades and hasn’t changed one iota.

Friday Feature: Printz of Peepz – Lethally Artistic

PromoPic

This is the 2nd Installment of our Friday Feature series embracing the music of Printz Of Peepz. This time we bring you the cut Lethally Artistic from the album, P.o.P. Culture, which is produced by another artist we feature here whenever possible, Crafsmen.  The track has that dark Gotham back-alley vibe.   P.o.P. really exhibits a great flow and lyrical ability, particularly on that second verse.  Make sure you keep checking for him for the next two Fridays because we ain’t done yet!  Appreciate innovative minds and creative talent…

Single You Out: Jermiside & Danny Diggs – Victory Is Mine

cover

Jermiside drops the second single, Victory Is Mine, from his sophomore collaborative album with producer Danny Diggs, Quiet As Kept.  Jermiside is my favorite emcee from the talented Lessondary Crew (I probably said the same thing about Spec Boogie a year or so ago, but whatever.  It’s a tie).  He has a very smooth style that is only amplified with the production of Danny Diggs.   This song in particular is inspiring.  You truly can’t keep a good man down.

Quiet As Kept will be released October 22nd

Natti (of CunninLynguists) – Architecture (ft. Sha Stimuli & Substantial) (Video)

I enjoy this song and Natti’s album,  Still Motion, alot.   Other than that, I am going to let the official press release take it away:

The second single from Natti’s ‘Still Motion’ gets a visual treatment. Watch as Natti, Sha Stimuli & Substantial reluctantly admire the drug game, the music industry and the institution of education. Three systems that, more often than not, prey on it’s participants and are specifically designed for them to fail.

Single You Out: MaLLy – Dead Art Painting

mally-strange-rhythm

MaLLy is a favorite of mine.  I find his sound very refreshing.  Perhaps this is even more refreshing as Last Word handles the production.  The vibe is a dark electronica that runs deep in sound.  A lot of layers going on here, but as a whole it allows MaLLy to showcase his turn of phrase and exceptional rhyme skills.   Strange Rhythm will hit the digital shelf on November 5th.

Quadir Lateef- MALCOM-HUEY-MUHAMMED-BIKO-JESUS-HAMPTON-GUEVARA-TUBMAN-GARVEY-TURNER-ASSATA-MANSA (Video)

Quadir Lateef lets loose a video off of his critically acclaimed project, Fool’s Gold.  The track of the title is lengthy and the words within inspire the potency of all those great revolutionaries mentioned.   It’s not too often that someone brings this much meaning and intent behind his words, but get used to it because that’s what Lateef is all about…meaning, intent, and action.
