Ahhhh yeah!  I’ve been waiting for this collaboration between our Artist of the Year, Nutso and one of my favorite producers, Dee Metto.  It gets no realer than this, folks.  Dee Metto hits with production that sounds like audible terrorist attack and Nutso drops some slick/tough wordplay.  I am going to assume that this is the intro track for their forthcoming project, Fluushang Metto, which drops on March 1st.

The homie Face Valyou and I got to talking on Twitter and this post was the result of that discussion.  Built To Write is a group comprised of Inqwesson, Face Valyou, Doc Science, and DJ A1-D.  The team is signed to Poe Mack’s, Mackstrumental Records.  This track is produced by the aforementioned Valyou and has a montage of sounds going on.  You can find this track off of Champion Sound:  The AYP Compilaiton Volume 2.

Man, AWKWORD’s album, World View, will finally see the day of light this weekend courtesy of the folks over at DJ Booth.  You can actually stream the nineteen track album right now.  I have heard a multitude of the tracks off the album and they all range from “good” to “excellent”.  He tackles a lot of topics on the project so make sure you put your thinking cap on for this one.  His last single before the album becomes official on Sunday is called, Gas Land, and features future hip hop HOFer, Chaundon.   In particular the two tackle the topic of ‘fracking”.  You can do the knowledge on that HERE.  Meanwhile, enjoy the track.

Royal Illness – Mercenaries Creed b/w Shit Israel (ft. 13Five & Vegas Posada) (Video)

There aren’t too many appropriate places to rock the Baine mask, but if there is such a place, the video for Mercenaries Creed might be the spot.   I caught Royal Illness checking out the blog and reached out to him on Twitter.  As an artist he seems to have a solid foundation in hip hop history and definitely brings that to the table for his own music.  He flips lines regarding politics and social commentary over some heavy beats that he himself created.   These tracks are just a taste of Illness’ full length endeavor, Soundtrack To The War Vol. 2 which will drop on February 21st.

Cocaine Chris (2 Man Cypher) – Statistics (Video)

This video is older (from three months ago) than I would normally post.  But I need  a late pass on all the music The Fraternity has been putting out.  This joint is from Cocaine Chris’ album, Cain & Glory, and is produced by none other than, Dope Antelope.   This track is not only dope but it’s also a very poignant description of what’s going on in a lot of urban epicenters.   The album, as a whole, is also very impressive.

I am not playing when I say that 2 Man Cypher/The Fraternity and Dope Antelope are at the forefront of keeping real hip hop alive and well.   I have checked quite a few albums from the back catalog and they are all high quality.  I can’t wait to hear more material from the camp.
