If this song and video doesn’t get you, you are cold m’fer. The illest duo making hip hop takes a look at the bottom of the barrel of humanity with their single, Broken. Sleep and Cocaine Chris are like the ghosts in the room looking at the harm a man can do not only to himself but also his loved ones. If this song sounded dope to you, then I suggest you peep their new project, Queen City Bastards, because the album is loaded with top choice cuts.
Kue the Vandal – The Antichrist (Prod. by Dope Antelope) (Video)
Oh the sound…the sound is amazing. Dope Antelope opens Pandora’s Box to concoct a beat like this. The sample of Big Pun used is simply awesome but the track also has this mysterious quality. Kue the Vandal has no problem dropping the irreverence on the track. This track is coming off the duo’s forthcoming project, The Snuff Project EP.
Single You Out: Supastition – Eardrum
Supastition’s Honest Living which is entirely produced by Croup is due out on Tuesday, but to wt one’s appetite, he released the single, Eardrum. One of the things I have always liked about Supa is his candid demeanor and view points intertwined with an incredible refined talent to rock mics. He is the people’s emcee.
L*Roneous x 2bers – Second Sun (ft. Def-I) (Video)
I missed big time on this. L*Roneous and the soulful hip hop group, 2bers dropped this video/song in late January as the lead single to their collaborative project, Utopian Blues. And as I was prepping my review of their project, I just happened to come across it. It’s a great song, backed by an exceptionally creative video. Enjoy and make sure you cop this EP!
TxE – This Town (Sallie Ford) (ft. Vursatyl) (Video)
Real hip hop flavor from the Portland crew TxE with a nice assist from Vursatyl. The beat by G_Force is incredibly innovative, giving this song maximum hip hop flavor. The black and white video also makes this song quite distinctive, adding a nostalgic tone. This track can be found off of the latest project VS PRTLND.
Single You Out: Machete Mode – The Danger Remix (feat. Sean Price, Esoteric Chino XL and Vinnie Paz)
Sean Price and Chino XL are now featured on the remix version of The Danger. Esoteric also tailors his own verse to give the song a new appeal. Chino XL of course drops one of those verses that leave your jaw dropped. Just give the man creative license and he is liable to steal the damn show.
This version is only going to be made available via 7″ record. So suck it digital era…haha.
Shabaam Sahdeeq – Tranquilo (prod. by Harry Fraud) (Video)
A lot of tough bars being tossed around today, but perhaps no bars tougher than the ones Shabaam Sahdeeq spits for this Harry Fraud produced banger, Tranquilo. Sahdeeq continues to show and prove that he can spit with the best of them and if this wasn’t proof enough, you will find out on April 22nd when he releases Keepers Of The Lost Art.
Skanks – Only Time (ft. Gstats x Shatike) (Video)
Skanks is another aritst that seems only to bring the ‘realness’ with every artist submission. Gstats and Shatike each lace the cut with a tough sixteen (guest emcees very talented). Azaia provides the icing on the cake by lacing the team with a threatening banger. The Shinigami Flowfessional is destined for eardrum come March.
“…the only time you left your hood is when you took off your hoodie…“
Murdoc – Visitors (Video)
Murdoc has got some bars and sometimes he likes to show them off…like right here for the track, Visitors. The heavy production comes courtesy of Doc Miller. It makes me wonder if there’s a new project on the horizon. Keep your fingers crossed people.
Single You Out: J-Scriptz – Transition
I got some more material from The Fraternity on deck. This time, J-Scriptz drops the the title track from his forthcoming album dropping March 18th. The whole album is produced by Rez The Silverback. This is a quick yet introspective joint and hopefully gets you tuned for the album.
