Another joint off of Illmaculate’s yet to be released Clay Pigeons EP. This time we have long time affiliate, Chase Moore offering his services as producer. I love the keys Moore uses in his production and Illmaculate is just such a well-polished emcee that you just expect the good stuff…and that’s what we get.
Rayce – Continuum (Video)
Rayce continues to put in work creating new music and videos. Continuum is the lead up to his soon to be released EP, A Travelling Man EP. I am truly surprised more blogs haven’t caught onto the talent of Rayce. This track is very creative in the way that it slows down in the chorus and then picks right up when the verses start…hence the name, Continuum.
One of the bright young stars we highlight here on Hip Hop Dependency, so show some love…

Note:
I have been waiting and waiting for Ab to drop this album (and I took forever to do the review so I can’t talk much). I will say I have been checking for this release for about two years. I got an unofficial listen last year sometime, and after a lot of prodding I thought the project was just going to be shelved. Needless to say, I am glad that it saw the light of day. In discussing the album with some heads a couple of weeks ago, someone made the comment that they wished this was the type of music that Mobb Deep still made. I concur. The AbSoulJah has made a career of dropping that street realism with wordplay that keeps things continuously interesting. He never gets monotonous and keeps the listener engaged constantly.
Single You Out: Frank Knight – Kings N The Crown (Featuring Con-Plex & MasterMind) (Produced By BigBob Pattison)
Frank Knight is starting to keep me abreast of his musical goings-on and I am glad for that because the man is very talented. Kings N The Crown is a track that can be found off of the Dean’s List On Tour Vol II Mixtape. I can’t speak for the entire project but this track features all of the essentials in the form of slick verses and big beats.
Single You Out: Silent Knight – Rob Ford
Who wants to party with the mayor of Toronto? Silent Knight uses the antics of one Rob Ford to provide material for his new cut. This is the lead off for his forthcoming (and yet untitled) mixtape dropping later this Spring. Stay tuned because any music from SK is Grade A.
Homeboy Sandman – Bad Meaning Good (Video)
This joint sounds sooooo good to me. There’s always a lot of depth in a Homeboy Sandman’s music simply because of his unorthodox flow but if you couple that fact with this Paul White production then you have the sureshot. Their new collaborative project, White Sands is out now.
Single You Out: Curly Castro – All Bets Are Off (ft. Zilla Rocca & Has-Lo) (prod. by Zilla Roca)
The Wrecking Crew represents on this Curly Castro single from his (now out) project, Brody. Zilla Rocca laces the camp with something extra funky and some scathing drums. And the crew is not unfamiliar to rocking over said production, the each contribute dope verses to complete the trifecta.
Macabeats x Cool FD – Pardon My French Intro (Video)
Here’s a video single from the Orleans, France and Baltimore , Maryland collaboration, Pardon My French. Macabeats handles the M-I-C while Cool FD is the man in charge of the boards. The album is made up of that dusty, jazzy, boom-bap that heads around the world will appreciate, so make sure you cop that!
Grieves – Shreds (Official Video)
Grieves makes some GREAT music. This song is just another testament to that. Shreds also gives us some great visuals. It’s not your typical low budget ‘sitting-on-your-front-porch-rapping’ type of steez. His new album, Winter & the Wolves drops on March 25th.
Single You Out: Gotham Green – RIP (It’s Over) (ft. JoJo Pellegrino & MaRika)
This came out in late January but I missed it and when I listened to it today it was just TOO inspiring not to share in hopes that I can help more people catch on to what Gotham Green is doing. I am not sure who produced this beat but they did a hella great job. JoJo Pellegrino was also the perfect choice to guest on this track. He murks his verse. Altogether this is one of my favorite tracks this year. Be on the lookout for Green’s new project, Child Of An Immigrant, due out a little later this year.
