Single You Out: Don Streat – Pistol Grip (ft. Sullee J & Lord Baltimore DDS)

Oh…so Brooklyn represented earlier but not to be outdone are these B-More boys!  Don Streat, Sullee J, and Lord Baltimore DDS slaughter this production from D.R.U.G.S. Beats.  I was really captivated by the bars from Sullee J.  He was spitting with a rapid fire and intense delivery.  It got me amped just sitting here.   I am not sure if this song is off of any project in particular but it certainly belongs in your collection!

Raf Almighty – Slumz (ft. Snook Da Crook and Wyld Bunch) (Video)

What do you know about the slumz?  Not a thing.  Not a thing.   But Raf Almighty and his compatriots, Snook and Wyld Bunch, are familiar with those surroundings and they break out the pain brushes and give you the picture with this cut.  And having Brans on the boards is like a the seal of approval for freshness.

If you haven’t checked out Raf’s new album, G.T.F.O.M.Y., you should get on checking it.  A lot of people giving it top consideration for one of the best albums this years.  Heads recognize…

Goldini Bagwell – Desire Is… (Video)

I am just going to go ahead and say it as I see it: Every year Goldini Bagwell drops an album, you are guaranteed to get a Top Ten track for the year from the project, and this one very well might be that joint for 2014.  Bagwell is just the type of artist whose flow sometimes just defies description.   It’s mesmerizing at times.  It’s even moreso on this joint because the beat and the vocals are simply hypnotic leaving me the listener entrances by the song.  The video is produced by cohort Sapient and he did an excellent job with the visuals and transitions.

The album drops next week so…take that!

John Robinson & PVD – All of the World (Video)

This is embarrassing….I haven’t checked out the album Modern Vintage yet.  John Robinson & PVD dropped the album on Tuesday and I have yet to get my hands on it but that’s going to change shortly.  I really am enjoying the laid back vibe that this track embraces.   It makes hip hop cool in an era where not much else is.   A lot of artists embrace the tough guy music while others look to make headway on the radio with watered down music. This music that Robinson and PVD are doing, just moves you.

Famoso – Crooklyn Bars (ft. Taj Mahal) (Video)

Famoso and Taj Mahal are verbal street sweepers on their latest track, Crooklyn Bars.  They each serve up a steady diet of dopeness over a J-Classic banger.    Famoso and Taj sound really good together over this beat ala some Mobb Deeo classic shit circa 1996.

They both have mixtapes dropping next month:  Famoso – Tales From Tha Dopeside and Taj Mahal – Power so make sure you give those a look.

GIT x HUBBS – Another Day/Commencement (Video)

Git & Hubbs drop the video single for the tracks Another Day and Commencement.  It’s a two part joint where the first single gives way to the second in the middle of the video.   Another day is a little bit darker in content and sound, while Commencement is a little bit lighter for  your auditory palette.  I think it gives a nice contrast.  Hubbs has a pretty unique flow.   His delivery relies a lot on pace and his content is anything but average.  Pretty intelligent stuff.

If you are diggin’ these joints, make sure you check out their collaborative album, Piece Of Mind.

Rediculus – Kalashnikovs & Kush (ft. Shabaam Sahdeeq, El Gant, Famoso & Bekay)

The single dropped a couple of weeks ago and subsequently we get the visuals.  The concept is almost like a basement cypher.  As we said when we brought you the single a couple of weeks ago each of these emcees goes in with their verses.  There is no weak link in the armor.  In the description of the video  there is a comparison of Bekay to ODB for this particular cut and that seems appropriate.   I mean, dude is giving himself a haircut while spittin’ a dope sixteen…

This again is off of Rediculous’ forthcoming album, In Response: Dee-Fi.
