Sleep (The Fraternity) – Goon To A God (Video)

On my hiatus I missed this joint from Sleep of 2ManCypher and it HAS TO be mentioned.  This joint is hot!  Dope Antelope can’t be beat in the production game right now.  I don’t know if anyone is producing bangers like this guy.  (Now if I could just get him to do this feature with me…another story).  Sleep is no stranger to Antelope’s production and he wrecks hell all over this joint.  Just some real hard bodied hip hop shit for your speakers. Recognize!

Slaine – Bobby Be Real (ft. Tech N9ne & Madchild) (Video)

Slaine’s new album, The King Of Everything Else, dropped today and I have to tell you that it’s the best music he’s put out in a while.  I really enjoyed listening to each cut and the album as a whole.  Bobby Be Real is an excellent joint to feature from the album that is brought to life in this video.  TechN9ne and Madchild are invited on the cut to narrate part of Slaine’s nightmare.   This is one of the better video productions I have seen in 2014.  I strongly suggest that you listen to his album.

Skeezo & Rediculous – Watch Ya Step Remix (ft. El Gant and Bekay) (Video)

Oh you were truly not ready for this joint.    Rediculous applied a particular type of funk to make this joint rock while Skeezo, El Gant, and Bekay launch an all out verbal assault on all the skinny jean wearing hipsters who claim to be able to rock the crowd.   These are joints that hip hop heads scream for, so make sure you dowload the album and share it with a friend.  You owe these men that much.

Basik – Knowledge God II (ft. Da Kidd L.A) (Video)

The artist Basik hit me up on email and asked me to take a look at this video he had done.   The moment struck me, and I think musically this track is pretty damn good.   The dance moves at the end could use a little work…haha but lyrically it was tight.   I especially liked Basik’s bars and flow as it had it’s own character (meaning it wasn’t just like everyone elses).  He has a mixtape due out soon entitled False Idols so make sure you check for that.

Duncecap – Social Drinker (ft. Lt Headtrip) (prod. by Kon Hathaway) (Video)

Sorry my posting has lapsed.  It probably won’t pick back up until later this month when I am fully settled in at the new crib, but I did want to share this new video from Duncecap off of his new EP, Generally Sad Songs.  This song is a slap in the face or a pat on the back depending on your perspective to all the “social” drinkers out there.  Regardless of the perspective is the fact that this is good music.  I like the mingling of depravity and playfulness of the track.  I hope to listen to the entire EP soon.

El Gant – Bases Loaded (ft. Infinity Gauntlet) (Video)

I just reviewed El Gant’s Beast Academy last week.  It’s an album that has some incredible bars, and this joint is no exception.  This time he brings in the Infinity Gauntlet camp for a little game of baseball.    Except the only thing these listeners are going to catch are some hot lines.  I am really hoping for an Infinity Gauntlet album soon because whenever these guys get on the mic, wonderful madness ensues.

The 17th – Hold My Own (ft. Livin Proof, Cortez, and Gwalla Gang) (Video)

These are the kind of joints that make the universe just right.   The 17th is an elite emcee.   His wordplay is just extraordinary.   But things get a little grimier on deck when homies Livin Proof and Cortez jump on the track.    These barbarian bars are liable to leave a wake of destruction in their path.

Inside Jokes With Complete Strangers should be front in center on your radar when it drops later this summer.

Blueprint – Perspective (Video)

Blueprint is an extremely well-informed and talented emcee.   This is a great track that gives you insight into other things that are going on in the world that may make you own circumstances pale in comparison.  He’s not trying to diminish feelings, but merely give you you, well,…perspective.   The track is soulful, meaningful, and enlightening.

Check out his album, Respect The Architect.
