Madchild and Slaine are on some American Psycho steez with the release of their latest video, Chainsaw. It even comes equipped with a spoofed ending. As far s what you can expect musically: On a lyrical level it approaches lunacy. On a musical level it’s the kind of production that will stalk your eardrums for a while. This song comes off of Madchild’s most recent project, Lawn Mower Man.
Malik Ferraud – Nothing Comes Easy (ft. Emilio Rojas) (Video)
Baltimore and NYC link up when Malik Ferraud and Emilio Rojas connect for the track, Nothing Comes Easy. The message is simple: success is not easy and you have to plow through the nastiness in order to feel the victory. I like what Rojas says in his verse:
…don’t got a team, got a congregation, they all believers!
The Undergrind (Mirage512, Side Effect, D.O.S) – So Real (Video) (Dee Metto Remix)
The Undergrind, Austin, Texas’ heavy hitters are back with a hard and gritty remix for their track, So Real. Mirage512 and Side Effect call upon Swiss producer Dee Metto to give the track a grimy appeal, and they asked the right man. Dee Metto is one of my favorite producers and we will be doing a feature on him very shortly. Also, they solicit the rhymes of D.O.S. who I have never heard of before, and he brings some tough bars to the project. Definitely notable.
Motive – Rat In A Cage (ft. Apathy) (Video)
The video has some nice effects but it’s the music that is going to move you here. Apathy once again shows that he has elite skill when in comes to production. He showed it on the Demigodz album, KILLmatic, and he once again blesses us with a strong effort. His adaptation of The World Is A Vampire from The Smashing Pumpkins is nothing less than stellar. Motive and Apathy then proceed to blister the mic in their verses with line after ill line. This is the first single from Motive’s upcoming project, The DNA.
Poison Man – Armageddon (Video)
First off Poison Man is composed of Meta P, Mayhem, and DJ John Gotem. Secondly this music and video is too ill. This is actually the second feature for Mayhem of the day which rarely happens for any artist. It just happens when great talent and good timing combine. The beat by Al Gees sounds apocalyptical which suits the sound just fine. I am excited to hear what the team has in store for an album. Dope styles abound!
Kon Boogie – The Game Needs Me (Video)
The first visual off Kon Boogie’s free album has arrived. The Game Needs Me is the intro track on Believe Or Never Grow produced by V Dizzle and shot by Live Loud Ent. The video is pretty straightforward and Kon Boogie wastes no time getting in the zone. It hits some of the main landmarks in his home town of Corona Queens in a fairly creative way. Using on location shots and what seems to be Kon Boogie in front of a projector to break up the sequence and add texture. All in all it’s a great concept for some of these overused locations and definitely worth the watch. His FREE album is still available on his site
Eff Yoo – Fire Escape Life (prod by Golden Child) (Video)
Eff Yoo narrates the somber tale of what life looks(ed) through his eyes. Just a stark dose of reality for the people from his album. Bodega Businessman. The production is handled by Golden Child.
Lyriciss – Maryland (ft. Pro’verb)
Oh fuck. This is why I love hip hop. It’s cuts like these right here that makes heads nod and days brighter. When it comes to going for delf , Lyriciss and Pro’verb take it there. Simply one of the best cuts when it comes to emcees repping their spot. Coming out of PG county with that quotable wordplay. I especially feel the sports references that Pro’verb is laying down…from Len Bias to the ‘Skins there were no breaks in those 16 bars. Salute! This cut is coming off of Lyriciss’ upcoming album, The Balance. That album will be hitting you on October 29th so do yourself a service and check it.
Rome Clientel – Bang Bang (Video)
The Milita and Rome Clientel team up again for the track, Bang Bang. Rome had been kind of quiet in 2013, but he’s back delivering that official boom bap that’s come to be associated with his name. He has a new project, The Empire 3: The Coronation, dropping soon. You can download this single HERE if you choose.
Father Jah & D.R.U.G.S. Beats – Like U Never Seen Crystal Ballz? (Video)
This video and song are a little trippy but there’s something very addicting and appealing about it. It’s just not something you hear every day. And that dude, D.R.U.G.S. Beats is on a roll right now! I count three albums to date that he has completely produced in 2013. That’s what you call staying busy! Father Jah has a very unique style and this is just a sampling of his new album, Manuscripture of the Father as Inspired by D.R.U.G.S. (Dope Real Under Ground Sh*t)
