This is yet another dope banger that you can find off DJ Low Cut’s France’s Finest NY Minute project. The beat is reworked by the Grim Reaperz and of course the verbals are by Queen’s own, Shaz Illyork. If you don’t own this project yet, you should cop it now. Loads of dope tracks.
Co$$ – Blasphemy in Babylon (prod. DJ Mentos)

Very few people approach religion as unabashed as Co$$. He does it without being abrasive but really sets the table for the listener to think. He is a keen observer and a thinking man which really sets him apart. That, and he is an extremely gifted emcee. Black Hockey Players is set to drop soon and I will provide more information on that as it becomes available. DJ Mentos is on the boards.
Single You Out: CuzOH! Black – Emergency Funk Broadcast Feat. Wordsmith (Produced by Strada)
CuzOH! Black keeps delivering dope joints for me to post on the blog. This time he teams up with DMV stalwart, Wordsmith for a fun and funky track. I always like to hear cool tracks to vibe to and these guys did it correctly. Strada is a pretty slept on producer. Although I have only heard him with DMV cats I think he has a sound that a lot of artists should be looking for.
Cyrano Sinatra – We Came 2 Win (Prod by J.Slikk) (Video)
Cyrano Sinatra rocks mics over long time collaborator, J.Slikk’s production. That production is very low key and subtle which allows you to focus on Sinatra’s verbals which happen to be pretty fresh. I know I have to update it but you can also check out the discography I did on Sinatra last year.
Earth is old news, my destination is heaven….
Nutso – No Sleep (Video)
Nutso is cranking out those bangers! You know this! This time he teams up with yet another dope European producer. This time it’s Swedish producer, Terminal Five. This song is full of that necessary dopeness. I hope we get an album soon from Nutso and he can bury these nonbelievers.
Artist Spotlight: PremRock
I am pretty excited…no, let me rephrase, I am very excited to bring you some thoughts from one of the most creative emcees in the game, PremRock.
I have been listening to him for a couple of years now and in an ideal world, I would have connected with him at SXSW a couple of weeks ago. But that was not in the cards. Still, I wanted to pick his brain about, his art, his friends, and his perspective. What I got in reply was well thought out introspection.
I encourage you to read the interview, check the video freestyle (it’s amazing) and make sure you cop all of his music. If you love creativity in your hip hop, you are going to be an instant fan of PremRock.
Single You Out: Praverb – The Social Network (feat. Dj Grazzhoppa) (prod. by SoulChef)
New music from the homie Praverb is always welcome. He doesn’t have that watered down sound where he’s dropping a weekly this-or-that joint. He’s just about that quality music and you know how I feel abou DJ Grazzhoppa. A humble artist with an amazing skill set.
Now with regards to this song, I’ll let Praverb give you the background himself:
“The Social Network” is a creative track that was inspired by GZA’s “Publicity” and “Fame”. I decided to compile a list of Social Networks and incorporate them into a rhyme. The song is produced by New Zealand based producer SoulChef. I reached out to Dj Grazzhoppa for the scratch hook and he exceeded my expectations.
Single You Out: Skeezo – The Spark (ft. Ruen)
Our last Artist Spotlight participant, Skeezo, is preparing a new project, Face Value that will be dropping 03/26/13. This jazzy and laid back type beat is new for me in regards to Skeezo and I like it. Really dope cut that shows off his diversity. Production by Ruen.
Slaine – Evolution of the Kid (Video)
Slaine encapsulates his come up in The Boston Project(s) in a mere 2 minutes. The production is handled by Lu Balz. The album is dropping on April 16th but you can pre-order it using the link above. It looks pretty tight if you ask me and I have always enjoyed Slaine’s flow.
Single You Out: Ancient Alienz – Grind Music
NSD is back in the building with the latest single from Ancient Alienz. The title is called, Grind Music. It’s the type of music you can hustle to, ya dig? The duo definitely have cultivated a raw sound and I am looking forward to hearing the album they have in the works.
