Milano Constantine’s, Winston Wolf EP, has been out for over a month but I really don’t think it’s gotten the credit it so justly deserves. Constatine is a ‘professional’ spitter. I mean his rhyme game is incredibly polished and when he is presented with production that he receives here…you need to share the exquisite results so on the strength of this cut…check the project!
I just kind of stumbled across this project from Terror Van Poo, Innocent?, and Vinny Idol, and I was really struck with what I was hearing. The Trifecta project is really dope and a great meld of artfully crafted boom bap. I suggest you give it a listen as I am pretty sure this should be on more people’s radars going forward. This cut, Represent, featuring Royal Flush, just gets stuck in my head. This beat by Vinny Idol is bananas!
I caught wind of this project from emcee Timbuktu and producer Ollie Teeba and it is pretty damn fresh and re-freshing. A Million Pound Note has a fun and playful vibe while staying deeply ingrained in the spirit of boom bap and extra crafty lyricism. I decided I would share my favorite track from the project. Vorheez sent this track to me a few weeks ago but I was in a Covid pandemic slumber so now it’s time to wake up and shine a light on this gem. Philip Drummond laces a boom-bap, funk, heat rock , while DJ Theory chops up the sounds making this track all things proper. Vorheez has a great flow and lyrical prowess to fall right in tandem with a voice that just stands out.
I hope we hear more from him soon!
Anything Never So Deep puts out, I am going to listen to. DJ Bless never endorses anything wack and would only cosign dopeness. And that’s exactly what we get with this new single from Savage Souls, Frontline. It’s dope lyrical hip hop with that boom bap feel.
Gary Rue is back with a new joint from his forthcoming album, The Burgeoning Nihilist, which is due out in late June. I am pretty excited for his new project, as everything he has put out to this point, I have really enjoyed. Deadbolt is produced by Vic Grimes (quite remarkably by the way…love this sound) with DJ TMB on the cuts.

Here’s a hot one from producer, Dark Arts, that has a really cool vibe to it. The piano keys pace the slow key drums. I can definitely vibe with it and the emcees, Daniel Son, Asun Eastwood, and Scott G deliver some gold over the rhythm. Everyone should be feeling this one!
This track from Kut One’s new project, Live Wires, is sheer and unadulterated fire. The strings and symphonic sound build such an amazing intensity and it features one of my favorite emcees in Recognize Ali. It’s a fire starter to be sure.
It’s my favorite track from the project but certainly not the only dope one. The whole thing is insanely good. It was honestly tough to pick a joint to feature so do yourself a favor and cop the whole thing!
I just happened to come across Enels new album, Forgotten 2, and it has a lot of gems on it. It was a really good project which I can easily encourage others to check out. Lots of great beats and rhymes, with solid guest spots throughout.
In order to fuel your curiosity, I am going to share with you one of my favorite cuts.
Holy shit! This is super dope! I am highly anticipating this album from Jamo Gang, Walk With Lions, even more so now! The combination of El Gant, Ras Kass, and J57 seems like an unstoppable force and you and this cut is a prime example. This track defines ferocity. J57 puts together a head nodder that infuses a rock rhythm into some boom bap and Gant and Ras Kass put on a verbal demolition for all of us to hear.
