Spit Gemz – Trained Assassins (ft. Starvin’ B,Carmen Indhira, Shaz Illyork & Eff Yoo)

Why can’t I get a hold of the Welcome To Hellzgate project?  I am about to start a riot.  Every joint I have heard off of this album has been pure heat and this is the best one yet.   Lyrically, this lineup is responsible for bodying this beat from One Take.  Some really great lines and flows on this joint  But really, it’s Carmen Indhira who makes this a great song.   Love the voice on the chorus.  It just really holds all the verse together

We see you down here in Austin, Texas.

Single You Out: Sutter Kain – Winter Music Part 4 (ft. Mr. Grimm and Donnie Darko)

I am fully on board with the Never So Deep movement.  Sutter Kain (DJ Bless) and Donnie Darko have done so much to impress me over the last six or so months.  I know that I am late on this, but it’s better to be late to the party than never to have arrived at all.

As usual, Sutter Kain, laces a banging beat.  The keys in production remind me of an organ that the Phantom of the Opera would be playing.  The emcees all sledgehammer the track (means hitting it hard).  Really dope music coming from this camp so stay tuned…

Single You Out: Soul Khan – Wellstone (ft. Akie Bermiss)

The dynamic duo of Soul Khan and Akie Bermiss is back!  Wellstone is the first single off of the Wellstone EP that is dropping on DJ Booth on March 12th (less than a week a way if you are indeed counting).

Deejay Element is on the beat and he gives this song a very melodic feel and blends all the sounds really well.  Content wise Soul Khan narrates on the ills and the apathy of our political system and is held down by the vocals of Akie Bermiss on the hook.

Wonderful music…

Single You Out: Cella Dwellas – Be True

I knew UG was making new music but had no ideas his partner in rhyme, Phantasm was still doing his thing.  This joint is unexpected and exciting to hear.  It  has been a decade at least since we have heard from this team.  Nick Wiz is back behind the boards now just as he was back then and he puts some heat behind this joint.

I hope to hear more.

Single You Out: Juan Deuce (ft. Romen Rok) (prod. by Falside)

I can’t lay enough praise down for what Falside does behind the boards.  He is a top five producer commercial or independent, period.  I love the way he chops up this sample while Romen Rock and Juan Deuce drop their bars.   Juan Deuce and Romen Rok have contrasting styles which makes this joint all the better.  That divergency plays well with the production.  this song is dropping on the yet to be released, No Sweat Mixtape, from Juan Deuce.
