Single You Out: Snowgoons – Still Real And Raw (ft. M – Dot, Jaysaun, & Journalist 103)

Snowgoons Black Snow 2 Promo

New single lifted from the Snowgoons’ latest project, Black Snow 2.  I just listened to the album a few days ago and I think its the Goons best work in a minute, so make sure you check that out. Still Real And Raw brings together that vintage German boom-bap with the rhyme stylings of M-Dot, Jaysaun, and Journalist 103.   Everyone who follows HHD knows M-Dot’s prowess.  Jaysaun can spit just a few bars a year and make a headliner.  Journalist 103 has at least one classic album under his belt and severely underrated one as well.  So is that ill enough?  Enjoy this collabo!

Virtuoso – If You Lost Someone (Prod by Snowgoons) (Video)

Virtuoso releases a cut and video for his departed friend, Eric.  First off the song is touching.  If you listen to the verses, Virt gives you a glimpse into the friendship and the inspiration of his partner.  The second thing that hits you is the fact that in the video he invites Eric’s younger sister to reminisce on camera.  I think that makes the song all the more personal.

But lets not get it twisted, Virt’s new album,  CoVirt Ops: Infantry is for the most part about banging beats and tough rhymes.  Make sure you cop that.

I hate you if you don’t like this track.  How do you like that for journalism?  I have direct disdain for your terrible taste.  Anyway…this joint is the best track, in my humble opinion, off of Virtuoso’s joint venture with the Snowgoons, CoVirt Ops: Infantry.  If you like those hard hitting snares and tough rhymes, this album is for you.  Also bear witness to M-Dot’s verse…dude shines every time he blesses the MIC.

Note:

I was modestly excited about this project. I say modestly because usually when a collective like this comes together for an album the expectations far exceed the product.  With that being said, that is not the  case with this album.  This album is incredibly refined with proper production and scintillating rhyme schemes.  KILLmatic is a complete project.

Critical – Clinical Studies (2012)

Wow. What a nice surprise this was!  I own most of these jawns from Critical, but to see them all in once place is impressive.  The man has put in work, and this project puts that into perspective.  Critical is a very talented emcee on the Creative Juices roster and has an album dropping later this year entitled, Electrical Tape.  My favorite joints are his collaborations with Little Vic which are done under the monniker, Hidden Agenda.

Check this mixtape out.  You are bound to find some interesting gems.
