Rome Cee is back with some new music and this is something to vibe to in a dark room while plotting on improving some things. Producer, Ancient Soundz, crafts an Asian inspired instrumentation so that Rome Cee can hit the listener with a deluge of crisp and poignant lyricism.
His new project, Sevencees, is dropping on May 28th.
Rome Cee’s Earthside album is real. It may even top my previous favorite in his discography, Grey Area. illMeasured (good to hear from you my man) hit me with this gem and trust me when I tell you that this joint is indicative of the effort of the entire album. Really superb material. The beat and the verses meld into a pot of greatness…enjoy.
The Harvest is the first song off of Rome Cee and Greenspan’s collaborative project, entitled CEE-SPAN which should drop next month. This is my first listen to Greenspan and I am already a huge fan of Rome Cee’s after listening to his previous albums. Both of them hold down the mic duties quite nicely while August Flight Gordon locks down the production with a very soulful vibe. I also like that the two voices contrast against each other.
Rome Cee dropped this video a week ago. I am not typically one to listen to songs regarding relationships and deal in terms like “love”, but when it is done this fresh, you can’t help but be a fan. I love everything about this song…and now the video. Really conceptually well done.
Some visuals from the highly acclaimed album from Rome Cee, The Grey Area. I listened to a lot of hip hop today, but when I saw this video I was reminded of how good of an emcee Rome Cee is. He and his associates just have mic charisma and that just can’t be taught.

Sometimes you just happen to wander into a gem. And that’s really how I came across Rome Cee…by musically wandering. I first caught wind of him on UllNevaNo’s project, The Color Brown Part II. Then after that, I would see these videos pop up, after that I knew this artist was making the music that I like. He is an intelligent lyricist, with a good turn of phrase, and he surrounded himself with some other very talented individuals.
Rome Cee is an artist that has recently come to my attention, we recently featured his video, Something Beyond. I think the man is impressive behind the mic, so I am going to keep pushing his music in hopes of you getting the picture. This beat is also really well done. We owe that to a producer who goes by the name of illMeasured (update your Twitter pic man, haha).
Rome Cee’s album, The Grey Area, is dropping next week. Ready or not…
My fault, Rome Cee has sent this to me twice and I just never got around to viewing it, but now that I have, I can pass it on to you. I really like the music. It’s very melodic and soothing, but Rome Cee’s flow keeps you interested. He’s definitely an artist we should be keeping our ears peeled for.
His album, The Grey Area, may be dropping soon…

The first notable release of 2012 belongs to Baltimore’s own, UllNevaNo. He releases The Color Brown Part II mixtape where he flows over Apollo Brown instrumentals. Ordinarily I wouldn’t mention a project where it’s an emcee flowing over another artist’s instrumentals but the quality of the project is incredible. Also, Apollo Brown hasn’t gotten the credit he deserves as a dope producer and these beats really continue to showcase his talents, as UllNevaNo puts his own lyrical twist to them.
UllNevaNo sounds so comfortable and dope over this collection of beats. It’s hard to pick favorites but I really like Who You Know, Importance, and Just Listen. Just Listen features one of my favorite Apollo Brown beats. It’s just so beautiful, soulful, and boom bap all at the same time.
There are two things that I hope happen with this project. 1) I hope you download this project immediately, and get familiar with both Apollo Brown and UllNevaNo. 2) I hope Apollo Brown hears this and he decides they need to do an original project together. It just sounds like it needs to be done.
