Note:

I can say, without hesitation, that Ruste Juxx has been on of the most prolific artists in the last few years.  He has been featured donzens of times on other people’s projects. He has been on a a blistering pace of almost releasing two albums a year and V.I.C. is his second of 2012.  His first project this year was with French producer Kyo Itachi, entitled Hardbodied Hip Hop.  That album was outstanding and I thought Juxx had outdone himself with that effort but, V.I.C. expounds even further on that effort, making it one of the top notch albums of 2012.   I believe one of the reasons this album shines so bright is the beat selection from producer, The Arcitype.  He is able to fuse different sounds together for an album that I really hadn’t heard before and that only enables Ruste Juxx to showcase even more of what he can do with the microphone.

Critical – Clinical Studies (2012)

Wow. What a nice surprise this was!  I own most of these jawns from Critical, but to see them all in once place is impressive.  The man has put in work, and this project puts that into perspective.  Critical is a very talented emcee on the Creative Juices roster and has an album dropping later this year entitled, Electrical Tape.  My favorite joints are his collaborations with Little Vic which are done under the monniker, Hidden Agenda.

Check this mixtape out.  You are bound to find some interesting gems.

Azma Da Instigator – Let Me Show You (ft. Planet Asia and Phil Da Agony)

Truthfully, these are some of the most distinct voices in the game right now.  You definitely know who’s who when Planet Asia and Phil Da Agony start spitting bars.  But don’t sleep on Azma.  I bought his new album, Thought You Knew, and that joint bangs.  It’s loaded with great guests (as you can see) and he more than holds his own on the mic.  The guy really has a voice to emcee, so if you like this joint check out the album.

Single You Out: Planet Asia x G_Force – Corner Store

New material from Planet Asia!  That is some good news.   Actually this is some older material recorded with producer G_Force for a project called Camoflauge Jackets that was originally recorded three years ago.  The project has never seen the light of day until now.  It is dropping next week on October 13th on Frsh Slcts.  Check the single and check back here for more information.

Note:

I make no secrets on this blog about the artists I am feeling.  And usually, the pattern repeats, as consistency appeals to me.  This brings us to the latest work by Boston artist, Rite Hook.  I have spoken to his appeal before but to recap previous posts, Rite Hook has great song making ability.    He is able to put intelligent and emotional music together.  He also has become a master at being able to construct dope hooks.  His dark crooning really ties his songs together.
