I was going to single out El Gant and Skanks’ bars but as you listen to each emcee you come to realize that each emcee comes correct. The cut is impressive and the album is bound to be more of the same. Check it when the time is right!

This is the first review of an album that we have done for Shabaam Sahdeeq. That’s odd because we have posted a ton of singles for various other projects, but this is really his first viable album in a long while. He has stayed busy with a bunch of mixtapes and guest features, all the while creating and crafting his own album, Keepers Of The Lost Art. The album has actually been a long time in the making, as I first heard this album titled a couple of years ago.
Disclaimer: It is hard and challenging to pick 50 tracks from the thousands upon thousands that dropped this year. It is merely an attempt to list my favorite cuts of 2012. Click the links to listen to the song! I think it’s a great list. There were a lot of great songs crafted this year and I know I left off some good ones. I listened to 5,000+ tracks from 2012 alone this year, so as an artist, if you made this list you know you are on the forefront of my iTunes!
Short of that Nino Bless track, Rhyme Of The Year, this might be the filthiest flow of the year. El Gant goes anywhere and everywhere with his lyrics, from Kurt Vonnegut to the Mariana Trench (now that’s deep). I am not sure who the responsible party is for this beat so I am just going to go with
Parakhan DJ Ready Cee. If that’s the case, then the man gets major props from me. This is a definite head nodder. You won’t be able to help it. Check out their self-titled EP, HERE.
