M-Dot – Blood, Sweat & Tears (Video)

M-Dot has his new project, Dining in Dystopia, dropping on January 28th, and Blood, Sweat, and Tears is yet another ill cut from the project. And while the song, is laden in M-Dot’s talent and skill, the video on the other hand is done with a certain amount of comedic value and light heartedness. It’s pretty funny and entertaining with the narratives that take place during and after. It reminds us that hip hop should be fun, but counterpoint, in the grand scheme of things the reality is that for all the talent and grind that M-Dot possesses, battling against the likes of impostors, frauds, and amateurs isn’t far from the truth lol. L.O.B. on the beat!

Enjoy and check the album when it drops!

Single You Out: M-Dot (ft. Kool G Rap x Revalation) (prod. by The Mighty V.I.C.)

M-Dot’s new single, Decadence, takes us through time when he invites emcees Kool G Rap, M-Dot, and Revalation to drop some verses over a beat from The Might V.I.C. The production, for my ears, harkens back to 1990s, with losts of synth elements, appropriately placed horns, and scratches from DJ Jean Maron applying LL Cool J samples. Each emcee picks takes on a time frame and takes us back to that place from their own perspective. The concept is articulated perfectly and I am positive all will enjoy.

Single You Out: Whatson – Neck Tie Remix (ft. Conway x M-Dot x Nutso)

We got new flames from German producer Whatson! You have a true trifecta of emcees here with the heavily venerated Conway, coupled with the oft mention and supremely talented M-Dot, and that fire laced from the streets with Nutso. It’s a heavy banger to say the least. Different mic styles that mesh for a dramatic head nod effect. Whatson crafts a really complex and appealing beat here wielding, vocal samples along with banging snares, sublime scratches, and cascading strings.

This is not for the faint of heart.

Single You Out: The Tangiers – Wrath Of The Titans (ft. M-Dot x RJ Payne)

Ohhhh damn…you all are not ready for this…but nonetheless here it is. RJ Payne is one of the most sought over collaborative talents right now. His pen game is just ruthless. And here you have The Tangiers (Benefit and Kaine) inviting him along with M-Dot to trade bars over a track that is also produced by M-Dot. The end result is just spectacular. This joint is exceptional and gets you hype on the abundance of rhyme and rhythm.

This track is coming from The Tangiers forthcoming album, The House Always Wins.

Revalation & GoD iLLa – I Been (ft. M-Dot) (Video)

A super fresh cut from Revalation and GoD iLLa’s collaborative project, RevILLutionAries. First and foremost, I LOVE this beat from L.O.B. Super dope vocal sample and those drums just knock. Secondly, the lyricism is undeniably potent! Both emcees are dope wordsmiths in their own right, and then you have M-Dot leading off with with his unmistakable sixteen. It’s a great cut on the merits of the music alone, but the video element, really just makes the track fun, and adds an extra entertainment value.

I copped the album but have yet to check it, but if this track is any indicator, it’s chocked full of all the ill stuff we have come to love!

M-Dot – Schizoid (Video)

M-Dot gets a little crazy over this C-Lance beat, and too me it sounds like he’s having a lot of fun going maniacal. He sounds as sharp as ever flipping on the off-kilter tip. He enjoys playing with razor sharp object…bars my friends….bars.

Be on the lookout for more material throughout the year. This man is relentless.

EMS (M-Dot x Rev x Kore) – Rapscallions (Video)

Yes…this is weeks delayed but you knew I was going to share it with you guys as it is EMS material.  M-Dot, Rev, and Kore jump on this uptempo Agent Dan track and get hype.   This is the kind of song that gets you amped in a way that is light hearted and reminds us that hip hop can be fun.  With that being said the lyricism will at times sever heads.  And it doesn’t go unnoticed that Rev is hitting a new gear with his bars.   I’ve always enjoyed him as emcee but he is escalating things here.

Enjoy!
