Supreme Cerebral is just getting started for 2025. After releasing the incredibly dope album with Swab, Son Of Hannibal, he is right back at it! On the joint, Devils Playground, he gets straight to it with the often featured talent of Born Unique, and over a heater from one of our favorite producers, Level 13.
Single You Out: Stu Bangas & Recognize Ali – Gorillas (ft. Lord Goat x Born Unique)
Stu Bangas and Recognize Ali are linking up for another Guerilla Dynasty project, and that means there’s going to be blood on the way. When these guys connect it’s always problem, and for the track Guerillas they team up with hitters, Lord Goat and Born Unique. Each delivers a thump in the night to those listening. Nobody does “ominous” like Stu Bangas. He’s just mastered a sinister sound.
Guerilla Dynasty 3 drops on March 14th.
Single You Out: Grime Lords – Auerbach Era (ft. Madhattan & Fast Life)
Grime Lords (Born Unique & Pete Twist) are back with another banger entitled, Auerbach Era, featuring Madhattan and Fast Life. And the result…the competition is dead on arrival. Twist laces something unique that has a somber yet thrilling vibe to let these killers spit the necessary bars. Dope joint.
Single You Out: Grime Lords & Spit Gemz – War Paint (ft. DJ TMB)
If there’s anybody who can get the listener ready for war it’s Born Unique and Spit Gemz, backed by sounds and scratches from Pete Twist and DJ TMB, respectively. The strings and scratches lead the way as the emcees leave a wake of carnage along their sixteens. The song is a warning to those who lead a false narrative in their music. Body bags included in this one!
Single You Out: Grime Lords – Polo Duffle (ft. Supreme Cerebral)

It’s that hardbody hip hop coming from a couple of the heaviest hitters in the Virginia hip hop scene. Born Unique and Pete Twist have been honing their craft and bring you that raw for years as the Grime Lords. Hard hitting drums, and a piano riff lead the way for Unique and west coast powerhouse Supreme Cerebral to lick shots over. This is a tough track and I would expect nothing less.
Jay Royale – Pig Stuy (ft. Born Unique) (prod. by Pete Twist) (Video)
This is a slam dunk banger for 2024 and I don’t think anyone has represented the DMV harder than these gents over the last few years. The production samples Mobb Deep, and Pete Twist delivers this sound that take you back into the streets of 1994, with Jay Royale and Born Unique just firing missle after missle. This joint is ferocious and can be found on Royale’s new project, The Bea Gaddy Soup Kitchen.
Single You Out: Jay Royale – Pig Stuy (ft. Born Unique) (prod. By Pete Twist)
Another single off of Jay Royale’s forthcoming EP, The Bea Gaddy Soup Kitchen. And this project is bound to be just as flames as the last, Criminal Discourse.
Jay Royale solicits the skills of Pete Twist on production, and a verse from Born Unique. So you KNOW this joint is going to be tough. This piano banger from Twist sounds like a horror movie score, which is justifiable once you hear these bars. And those Mobb Deep samples scratched in, really adds that special touch. Don’t Sleep!
Single You Out: Shabaam Sahdeeq – Razor Sharp Vernacular (ft. Born Unique x Tristate) (prod. J57)

Shabaam Sahdeeq and J57 have been cooking in the lab and this is the second single from their upcoming project which you know will be flames. We have a veteran emcee who has been making contributions to hip hop at a phenomenal clip and getting better as the year go by, coupled with a producer who ONLY knows how to put out a premium product. For this track, Razor Sharp Vernacular, they solicit both coasts by grabbing sixteens from Born Unique and TriState.

Notes:
I am going to start featuring one album from the previous week every Monday because there is so much good music that I believe is going unheard. And this album from French producer, Astro Vandalist, is something that you guys need to be made aware of. It’s 17 tracks of unadulterated and potent hip hop. The beats really hit hard and you can see by this lineup of emcees that there are some heavy hitters on here.
Check out and cop the whole thing as it is worth every penny, but here are my favorite tracks if you want a sampling!
