A dope track with LEXand G.S. Advance on the mic and Dray Yard on the beat. Of course I love the Karate Kid reference, but this beat as a whole happens to just move something! I am really feeling this track to the tune of more than just a few plays in a row. Just all around ill! Enjoy!
Pearl Gates and Syllare back with a vengeance with their most recent single featuring Blu, Kingz. The track produced by Corrado is simply smooth. Something to ease into and vibe with in an anticipation of their forthcoming album, Play This 2.
Here’s a dope narrative from Madhattanand IceRocksfrom their collaborative experience, Brown Water Bible. It’s a slower pace and deliberate in it’s illness but believe me you will feel this one! I just copped the album and haven’t quite listened to it yet but you know you are going to get the realness with these two working together.
I always enjoy new music from Elz Sinatra and this one is epic and hits you with some extra fervor. I am loving this beat from DJ TMB while Sinatra and Ragnar Vallon come with a rugged display of lyricism.
Banger brought to visual life by Shabaam Sahdeeq and J57off of their forthcoming project, Precious Stones. This track is one of those that just represent hip hop to the fullest. The fresh rhymes from Sahdeeq…the production from J57…and then the scratches by Chinch33leave a cumulative impression on the masses. Be prepared for something special when the project drops.
When artist’s touch on the vulnerable side of humanity with their music it does something special for the listener. It creates an instant bridge between the artist and the fan. I can see this happening over and over again with this track, Anxiety, from Joell Ortiz. He relays what it is like to live life in a state of constant apprehension and all the signs and feelings it incorporates. He also reflects on how dismissive people can be of the topic.
This track is one of the strongest of the year in my estimation as Nottzdoes his usual remarkable when melding samples, drums, and instrumentation.
Ca$ablanca doesn’t stop…ever. He links up with Body Bag Ben for a haunting heat rock. This is the kind of track that makes you feel a little uneasy cuz those strings Ben uses keep you on edge. And Ca$ablanca knows how to put the beat to bed as his voice and cuts through effortlessly. This one will stick with you.
We have a couple of the illest emcees, each representing one side of the continent. Certified legends in Planet Asia representing the west coast, and Milano Constatine repping the east coast. And together they bring out the best of hip hop from the perspective of any coastline. Brought to you by DJ Enyoutee, Asia and Constatine each rep their unique styles to the fullest over the track Milano Medallions.
New EPdo out on November 8th, and I have my pre-order in!
Here’s a gem I want to make sure that everyone hears. Producer Greve leads an all-star cast of emcee with a beat that sounds like boom-bap meets the River Dance and the result is hype! I love the use of the fiddle (?) loop. That shit is fire when coupled with this beat and the scratching. Emcees Termanology, Ruste Juxx, Shabaam Sahdeeq, and UGeach rip strong sixteens to make a truly compelling track.
I suggest you check out the project, Eternal, as soon as possible.
There is really nobody wreaking more havoc in 2019 than Ruste Juxx. He is bringing you an onslaught of projects to close out the year and this quite possibly could be my favorite joint from him thus far in 2019. I am loving the production (it’s the strings!) of Mephuxcoupled with the viciousness of Juxx. Things can get quite hostile on this track.
Be on the lookout for 2-3 projects to drop this year from Juxx…including this one with Trillmatic.
