Here’s an ominous heatrock from Che Uno, and his recently released project. FUEGONHIGH. King Bondalero concocts a beat that just sounds grimy and dark. The bassline just says you should turn off the lights when listening to this joint. And the contrasting styles of New Villain and Che Uno play really well off of each otther for this song, Chariots.
Single You Out: Rah Scrilla – Hustla (ft. Daniel Son)
Rah Scrilla links up with emcee’s emcee, Daniel Son, for his Profound79 produced single, Hustla. And this joint is glorious. The classical sample proves a powerful backdrop for this hustler’s anthem. Dope song.
Johaz x Nottz – Slay (ft. HookMaster Jaz) (Video)
People are not talking enough about this Johaz and Nottz collaboration that dropped a few weeks ago entitled, The Haz Orphanage. This track is bananas and Nottz continues to etch his name in hip hop lore as one of the top producers period. I love the samples and sound he builds here and Johaz delivers a lyrically energetic and impressive performance.
Dan Johns – Go Time (Video)
New project out, Quiet Mind EP.
38 Spesh & Harry Fraud – Sal’s Place (Video)
38 Spesh is the complete artist in my opinion, as he is equal parts emcee and producer. The man can do it all and I love to hear him spit over some vintage Harry Fraud production. Fraud has a keen ear for well placed samples and neck snapping drums, and I love how Spesh integrates equal parts life story and philopshy.
This joint is a gem that can be found off of the collaborative album, BEYOND BELIEF.
Rasheed Chappell – Narcan (prod. by Little Vic) (Video)
Rasheed Chappell and Little Vic linking up once again for their video single, Narcan. “This is more than just art, it’s arson”. Chappell summarized this cut in one line. He stands a man apart with his music, not settling in with any particular trends, and gimmicks and just giving you that raw, yet polished work. And the chemistry with Vic is unquestionable as these two have rolled out a pair of sonic triumphs.
Album, A Portrait Of, drops on December 9th.
Single You Out: Daniel Son – River Dogs (prod. by Itrak)
Another banger from one of the most consistent to do it, Daniel Son. River Dogs is dark in large part to Itrak’s murky production, but razor sharp with that lyricism. This song knocks and has your ears craving what’s next on deck. And you know it’s coming. The work.
Single You Out: One Be Lo – Suez Rode
One Be Lo has a new project out called, Songs Of Songs, which he is describing as a gift and a celebration of life. The project, consists of many sounds, layers, and frequencies. And it is quite literally a musical gift from him to you. It is free but I highly encourage you to support him for the talent that he is. He not only drops clever and poinant lyricism but self-produced the project.
I am choosing to share the track Suez Rode as I love how One Be Lo masterfully narrates the love of his surroundings to us over a production that is rich yet industrial.
Single You Out: Shabaam Sahdeeq x John Jigg$ – Tyrant
Damn. Here’s some really dope music from Shabaam Sahdeeq and John Jigg$ backed by a synth heatrock produced by DJ Goblin. This is really some gladiator / fight club music right here. These emcees are debunking the haters, ignoring the naysayers, and dropping the competition in their tracks. This is epic!
Fucking with Double S and John J will have your ass stuck between a rock in a hard place – John Jigg$
Single You Out: 38 Spesh x Harry Fraud – Band Of Brothers (ft. Benny The Butcher & Ransom)
38 Spesh and Harry Fraud have some heat coming in our direction with a new project dropping on November 18th entitled Beyond Belief. That union of talents seems like a no-brainer to purchase when it comes out. But then you add the talents of Benny The Butcher and Ransom to this single, and your pre-order should already be in.
The emcees spit about that exceptional comraderie over a melodious beat by Fraud. This track is one that you will rewind back several times. But that Ransom verse. Wow.
If you don’t bump into the devil three times a day, then you walking with him – Ransom
