L.I.F.E. Long has been a hip hop staple for decades and he’s still delivering dope music and dope messages. Here he links up with producer S Eyes Finest to deliver a commentary on guns in society. A very serious topic as we are inundated with violence all around us. The emcee and producer do a great job on shedding light through hip hop.
Single You Out: Swollen Members – Triple Aces
Whoa! New Swollen Members?!?! Say it’s so…and apparently it is.Prevail, Madchild, and Rob The Viking are apparently making new music again, and that’s a breath of fresh air. I loved these guys when they were at their zenith. Balance is in my mind a classic album. I know others will disagree but that was a game changer when it dropped in 1999.
Let us hope that there is new music in store for the listener in the future.

I love the idea of a storied LEGEND in the game (Muggs) linking up with rising and undeniable talent (Mooch). He’s done it with Rigz, Rome Streetz, and a host of others, and now Mooch get his impeccable production for his pen game. A great match and pairing. This track delivers and the album undoubtedly will too.

True confession. After hearing DEAD PERRY’s production on Casual’s last album, I am all in on this artist. And his soundscape for this Izrell song may be better than anything I have heard from him previously. This joint is ominous. It made me want to go watch The Omen. And Izrell, bucks every trend and his words are scathing commentary against conformity and the typical way of doing things. This track is simply fire.

Fire in the hole! The Bad Seed and company regulated in harsh and talented ways over this JR Swiftz heat rock with Tone Spliff on the scratches. Seed, Mims, Honey Dinero, and Nam Nitty each body sixteens on this one. This smacks to me of the first REAL banger of 2024.

Beautiful and dope music right here with a K-Salaam and J.Dot.L produced joint featuring Jae Skeese and Wrekonize. Very soulful joint that one can easily vibe out to with D. Lylez on the hook. And it’s a great paring of emcees who really drop their verses like an inner monologues of how they value and utilize their time and energy. This is so smooth. K-Salaam also executed these cuts to perfection to put the cherry on top of this one.

This new Chuck N Lock is soooooooo damn good. Grant Burgess puts this vocal sample and dusty sample in the forefront of his production, which acts as the duos haunt for about three minutes. But Chuck N Lock…I’ve said this before…their pen game and the way they sin words is one of a kind.

I’m not going to dive in too hard to his new project, S.O.U.L, which is released just a few days ago as a Bandcamp only. But when I tell you, he put some literal soul into this work, it might as well have been a transfusion from man to music, because every joint is soaked in it.
