Pushing Buttons – Tough Times (ft M Dot, Lateb, Kore, 12 Finger Dan) (Video)

Second single from Pushing Buttons JUST released album, Full Level. Tough Times features M-Dot and Lateb, with Kore on the chorus. The song is a soulful, bluesy, and a neck-snapping that takes the listener through the pain, strife, and resilience it takes to make it in life. Some very heart felt and relatable bars on this joint. 12 Finger Dan is on the cuts and really makes this track pop even more than it already does. I also think this is one of the best animated videos I have seen.

Single You Out: Copywrite – Weight For It (prod. By DJ Mighty Mi)

Oh yes…Copywrite teaming up for some DJ Mighty Mi production! This song smacks! The funky boom bap laced by Mighty Mi is the perfect landscape for Copy to land punch after punch. This might be my favorite Copy song in recent memory. I mean…I stayed rewinding it back with bars like:

It’s beeeeeeeennnnn a lonnnnnnnng time since I have heard anything new from Okwerdz, however I remember him for his energy and clever wordplay and those things have not changed with the release of this new video, Never Switched Up. WateRR – All Clones (Video)

Another dope joint from WateRR and his project with Wavy Da Ghawd, Washed Ashore. This joint possesses all of the criteria of dopeness. It’s got a knocking beat, and WateRR does nothing but just drop life jewels in his rhymes, keeping his universe original and authentic in a world that’s become oh so generic.

If you haven’t checked out his project, Washed Ashore, please do that. It’s really his, ANNNND Wavy Da Ghawd’s, best effort to date, in which styles complement each other flawlessly.

Single You Out: Werdperfect – Brimstone (ft. Eto) (prod. By Dub Sonata)

Werdperfect is not a name that I am overly familiar with but this new single, Brimstone, he is bound to raise some eardrums. And with Dub Sonata on the production you are off to a terrific start. And then you add a verse from Eto, and you are REALLY cooking. But come to find out…Werdperfect’s pen game is pretty damn good! The drums knock heavy as does the blending of wordplay and wisdom. Lot of bars that you can feel and relate to.

New album, Dog Daze, drops on April 26th.

Single You Out: Bozack Morris – Blood In Blood Out (ft. Asun Eastwood & Lex Talionis)

Not enough people are talking about this new project from Bozack Morris, The Toronto Tape, so I am compelled to put you up on it. Morris put some legit bangers together with some of Toronto’s very best and the results are irrefutably dope. And this one featuring Asun Eastwood and Lex Talionis is my favorite. Cue the church organ and lets unleash some damnation. Asun drops some ungodly hard bard on this … love it.
