Single You Out: Latyrx – Gorgeous Spirits (Aye, Let’s Go!)

Undoubtedly this isn’t the standard fare your accustomed to hearing on HHD, but every once in a while I need to throw you a curve ball and try to expand your horizons.  Fifteen years ago Lyrics Born and Lateef The Truthspeaker joined forces to form Latyrx and create one of the most influential albums to me individually.  They broke every mold that was conceivable known.  For God’s sake they were rhyming on top of each other!  Now, a decade and a half later, they get back together again to create Disconnection.

The vibe is not just up beat but extremely high energy.  They spit bars in rapid succession and God forbid you may even consider dancing.  Give this one a shot and listen to EP, you just might like it…different might mean exceptional

Jus Daze – Music Box (Official Music Video EXTENDED)

My inbox has a 90% failure rate.  That means nine out of every ten submissions are straight bunk. But today, the artist Jus Daze made opening and sifting through the inbox worth it.  When you listen to his verses you understand that “he just gets it”.  His lyrics and rhyme schemes indicates that this guy is on some other ish, but it’s the amount of heart he puts into his music that separates him from other artists I have heard.  With that being said, Music Box, is a powerful song.   So spread the word…pass this post…his video around.  I don’t want it to go viral…I want it to go epidemic.  Oh…and if you just want to hear the song and the actual video, progress it to about 4:08 mark.

Single You Out: Saheed – I Go On (prod. by Numonics)

As time has passed since Hip Hop Dependency’s inception is who is consistent with their product and who is not.  Numonics is consistent.  He always puts together a memorable product and works with good people and this time is no different.  He and Saheed have a new project dropping entitled, Not For Nothing dropping and this is the first song we are entitled to hear.  Numonics brings in the horns and some soulful sampling while Saheed lets loose some angst in the freshest way possible.

Note:

I can say, without hesitation, that Ruste Juxx has been on of the most prolific artists in the last few years.  He has been featured donzens of times on other people’s projects. He has been on a a blistering pace of almost releasing two albums a year and V.I.C. is his second of 2012.  His first project this year was with French producer Kyo Itachi, entitled Hardbodied Hip Hop.  That album was outstanding and I thought Juxx had outdone himself with that effort but, V.I.C. expounds even further on that effort, making it one of the top notch albums of 2012.   I believe one of the reasons this album shines so bright is the beat selection from producer, The Arcitype.  He is able to fuse different sounds together for an album that I really hadn’t heard before and that only enables Ruste Juxx to showcase even more of what he can do with the microphone.

Tuesday Promo: Roc Marciano – Reloaded

Similar to what we did for Sean Price’s Mic Tyson album a couple of weeks ago, we will do with Roc Marciano’s album, Reloaded this week.

Marciano has kept dropping fresh material all the way  up the release of this highly anticipated album and rather have you back track and find all those tracks he put out…we are going to put them all in one post.  The first three tracks are singles released for the album, the remainder are just loose tracks he has put out in the last couple of months.   Then end result:  Hopefully you will cop the album!
