Single You Out: D. Strong – The Knock (ft. Apani B x John Robinson)

This song has got everything.  It’s got a trio of dope emcees.  It has the great production from HHD favorite, SciFi Stu.  It also has the X-Factor in the cuts by Chinch 33.  It’s time people start noticing the gift he has in chopping it up proper.  I find I enjoy pretty much any song where he has a credit.

I am not sure if this is a single for a forthcoming project, but enjoy it any ways…

Burke The Jurke – Pleasant Torment (Video)

This song must’ve been too hard for most blogs to post on.  I honestly can’t believe it hasn’t garnered more attention.  Mr. Green has banging keys on this joint, and Burke The Jurke leaves no bar untouched.  A real sick flow on this track.  I hate to use cliches but what the hell…this joint goes hard.

He has an album dropping called, Ear Responsible with no release date as of right now.  I will be looking for it though.

Single You Out: Natural Elements – All Hail NE

I hate posting on the weekends but I can’t help it.  This news is BIG!  All of us older heads can breathe again, and youngers can start anew.  Natural Elements (Agu, Swigga, and Anthony Cruz) is back in the building and the track is dope!  The three show excellent chemistry as if they have never been apart.  If you listen to their older material (which I strongly encourage) you will hear that undeniable chemistry again and again.  Man, enjoy this people…I know I am.

Undefined – Closed Caskets (ft. Peter Leo x Little Vic) (Video)

The first thing I want to say is that you don’t see chemistry on the microphone like this anymore.  Little Vic and Peter Leo spit these bars like they were on some EPMD shit.   It’s incredible the way they trade these bars.  I can’t compare it with anything recently.  The second thing I want to note is  the dope beat that Undefined crafts here, and his album, Certified A-Side, is chocked full of rhythms like this.  You need to check it out!  Lastly, the video is extremely well done.  The director really did a great job of accentuating the team work in the track.  Officially one of my favorite joints this year.

Grim Reaperz – Blood Leg Vol. 1 & 2

I don’t have time for a full review of these EPs but I really find it necessary to showcase the material in these two pieces.  I think they have gone largely unnoticed and they are too dope not to give a fair listen.

The Grim Reaperz are a production team out of France. (Yes, I know…France is killin’ it right now when it comes to production.)  Too rock over their heavy hitting productions they have enlisted the likes of RA The Rugged Man, Bekay, Shaz Illyork, Reks, Diabolic, King Magnetic, and a slew of other dope artists.

So if you are a fan of any or all these artists, I am sure that you will dig these EPs.  Vol. 1 dates back to July 2012 while Vol. 2 just dropped within the last month or so.  Enjoy…and cop if you like what you hear.

Producer’s Spotlight: DJ Low Cut (2013)

Today HHD is bringing you it’s initial offering of it’s Producer’s Spotlight.  The idea is a product of how unheralded and under appreciated the producer has become in today’s hip hop world.  Artists crank out albums so quickly these days that it’s hard to sink your teeth into an individual project and give credit where it’s due.

I chose DJ Low Cut (Twitter, Facebook) as my first entry because he has been prolific over the course of the last year or two.  He has so much dope material out there that his name deserves that recognition and his product deserves to be listened to and appreciated.  He also just recently dropped and EP with one of my favorite emcees, Nutso, called In The Cut.

This is not done in interview format but rather I am asking producers to provide a bio and some of their favorite cuts of which they handled the beats.
