I was just set to cop SilentSomeone’s new album, I Have Company when I saw this video up for the cut Rhinoceros Funk. After watching the video and listening to this Funk’s rhymes and SilentSomeone’s incredible production, I am sold completely. This song is so ill. The man has a an ill voice as an emcee so in addition to checking the SilentSomeone’s album, I am going to have to surf the
Single You Out: The 17th – Chest Tube
The 17th delivers a single from his forthcoming album, Inside Jokes With Complete Strangers. This song is based off of a real life incident that The 17th went through. The track is all about the struggle to stay alive and then taking that very struggle to learn to appreciate what you have.
The man stays on the cutting edge of making dope music, refraining from the conventional. Enjoy this…
Zilla Rocca & The Shadowboxers – Shoot The Piano Player (ft Has-Lo) (Video)
Few people are as innovative as Zilla Rocca and Has-Lo. These guys just ooze creativity and not settling on the current standard as being good enough. That creativity is on display when it comes to their video, Shoot The Piano Player. It’s unique to see a video show three different scenes simultaneously. It’s something you may have to watch a couple of times which is a good thing.
If you like your hip hop stamped with skill and nuanced in innovation, check out Zillar Rocca’s No Vacation from Murder.
BIGREC – Unstoppable (Video)
This new Bigrec and Diamond D album is serious business. Real serious. I listened to Doomsday this morning and was blown away. I was not really familiar with Bigrec up until this point but now consider him all over this radar! The production Diamond D cooked up for this album is quite literally impeccable and Bigrec is a top notch lyricist. He’s got an incredible flow as is demonstrated by this single, Unstoppable. The album is a must cop so I expect you to do right…

Note:
This is the first review of an album that we have done for Shabaam Sahdeeq. That’s odd because we have posted a ton of singles for various other projects, but this is really his first viable album in a long while. He has stayed busy with a bunch of mixtapes and guest features, all the while creating and crafting his own album, Keepers Of The Lost Art. The album has actually been a long time in the making, as I first heard this album titled a couple of years ago.

9th Prince – California Dreaming (ft. Ras Kass) (Video)
9th Prince links up with Left Coast icon, Ras Kass for his new single, California Dreaming. It’s a definite hip hop lyricist’s take on an old rock classic. The transition by producer BP was on point. It maintained enough of the original elements of the song while making the neck snaps with those drums. This is a single off of 9th Prince’s soon to be released album, Shaolin Prince.
Single You Out: DJ YRS Jerzy – Don’t Do It (ft. Chox-Mak & Bullet Brak) (prod. by North Villah)
Chox-Mak and Bullet Brak follow the dust horn samples of North Villah for this new single, Don’t Do It. I have been chasing down as much Chox-Mak music as I can lately ever since I heard his collaborative project with Bunty Beats, Life After Def. You should get on this bandwagon too before it’s too late. Dude is an ill rhyme writer.
Single You Out: Goldini Bagwell – Feeling Good
Heaven Noise came through as promised with the new Goldini Bagwell single, Feeling Good. It’s music to sit back and chill too with laid back synthesized production. Shoot, I felt my burdened lightened after just one listen. Bagwell’s new album, Secondhand Smoke (The Extended Cut) is due out on June 24th which incidentally feels like a long time.
