Single You Out: Rubiks – Uh – Oh (Prod. Rich Kidd)

I was not familiar with Rubiks at all but I saw the at Rich Kidd did the production so I decided to check this track out.   The end result of this collaboration is a really dope song.   It’s got an uptempo and slightly industrial tone about it.  The distorted guitar licks really give the track another dimension.  Rubiks keeps a flow and tempo that give the track some excitement  and the way he switches up his cadence really keeps things interesting.   In the end both the production and emceeing make the track very dynamic.

He has a new mixtape set to drop entitled VOLUM3: Push Play #PushItRealGood.

Basik – Knowledge God II (ft. Da Kidd L.A) (Video)

The artist Basik hit me up on email and asked me to take a look at this video he had done.   The moment struck me, and I think musically this track is pretty damn good.   The dance moves at the end could use a little work…haha but lyrically it was tight.   I especially liked Basik’s bars and flow as it had it’s own character (meaning it wasn’t just like everyone elses).  He has a mixtape due out soon entitled False Idols so make sure you check for that.

Single You Out: Ancient Alienz – Ancient Alchemy

If you haven’t copped this Ancient Alienz joint by now, you all are sleeping on something immaculate.  These guys are on some other shit lyrically and hopefully their much anticipated album is going to make it out soon.  They have a unique style lyrically.  They aren’t talking about the same ol’ same but at the same time, they aren’t dropping crazy material that is hard to follow either.   They also have a knack for that dope production.  Joey Juggz gets behind the boards on this one and the GZA along with the guitar work is that premium product.   Check it!

Duncecap – Social Drinker (ft. Lt Headtrip) (prod. by Kon Hathaway) (Video)

Sorry my posting has lapsed.  It probably won’t pick back up until later this month when I am fully settled in at the new crib, but I did want to share this new video from Duncecap off of his new EP, Generally Sad Songs.  This song is a slap in the face or a pat on the back depending on your perspective to all the “social” drinkers out there.  Regardless of the perspective is the fact that this is good music.  I like the mingling of depravity and playfulness of the track.  I hope to listen to the entire EP soon.

El Gant – Bases Loaded (ft. Infinity Gauntlet) (Video)

I just reviewed El Gant’s Beast Academy last week.  It’s an album that has some incredible bars, and this joint is no exception.  This time he brings in the Infinity Gauntlet camp for a little game of baseball.    Except the only thing these listeners are going to catch are some hot lines.  I am really hoping for an Infinity Gauntlet album soon because whenever these guys get on the mic, wonderful madness ensues.

Single You Out: Armageddon – Nightmares (Shawneci)

“1000 spiders, voodoo chants, choppers, and Salvador Dali on a Molly”….What do any of these seemingly randon things have to do with eachother. Nothing really, but Terror Squad Alumni Armageddon has married these oddities together to create something diabolical for the fans. Geddy releases his latest track, ‘Nightmares’.

The song threatens to take you into the deepest recesses of Geddy’s mind to explore his brooding perception of today’s Hip Hop that will leave you there with foreboding visages of blood stained pavements and things that lurk in the shadows. The eerie production from Shawneci serves as a guide through those dark passage ways we seldom want to wander while our emcee litters the track with sinister but truly exceptional wordplay.”

Single You Out: Es-K – Reminisce (ft. MC Dialect, Charmingly Ghetto, M-Dot, & S.Dub) (Chromadadata Remix)

A lot of dope smooth joints have released in the last week or so.   This one was forwarded by the EMS crew and after a long delay, I wanted to share it with you.  There’s a lot of introspective bars in this joint while the production instructs you to lean back and maybe reminisce about someone you once lost or a time gone past.  We all do that from time to time so make sure you take this track as an opportunity.

If you are really feeling this joint and want to check out more, Es-K just dropped his album, Serenity.
