Whosane is back on the scene with the appropriately titled, I Will Return. On this track, he puts into the perspective all of the crimes being perpetrated on the Black Community both specific and broad. Obviously there are crimes of brutality that have been in the news lately, but there are also grander obstacles that involve lack of opportunity and advancement that Whosane touches upon. Dope and meaningful music.
Single You Out: Little Vic – Madman
New music from Little Vic is always a welcome find here on HHD. Again the man showcases the superlative lyricism with his own production style. His new project is a continuation of an old one. Loosies Collection Pt 2 will be dropping in the near future.
If you want to be a martyr we can build your mausoleum…
Kamala – Kamalakai (ft. Bankai Fam) (Video)
DJ Ready Cee brings the collective forces of KAMALA and Bankai Fam together for the first single to his album, Order 66, which is due out on December 19th.
I was going to single out El Gant and Skanks’ bars but as you listen to each emcee you come to realize that each emcee comes correct. The cut is impressive and the album is bound to be more of the same. Check it when the time is right!
Single You Out: Akrobatik x LX-Beats – All Hands On Deck (feat. Redrama, Reks, Are, Chino XL )
Akrobatik and LX Beats invite a few friends to rock over one of their cuts and the results are as expected: Dope. It’s a mingling of known and unknown quantities. We know what Reks, Akrobatik, and Chino XL are prone to deliver, but Redrama and Are stand a little less familiar, but it’s all good as everyone delivers a nice touch to the production from LX-Beats.
Single You Out: Jered Sanders – God’s Gift.
This is bound to be one of the hidden gems of 2015. Jered Sanders delivers lyrical genius in heavy doses with, God’s Gift. Sanders simply is not your average run-of-the-mill emcees. He is extremely clever with wordplay and that is evident with every song he has dropped. The beat takes a minute to settle in, but once Analogic assembles all the components, I am hooked.
I haven’t checked the entire album yet, but I am about to. The album is called, Daylight Saving’s Time.
..it’s a breeze when I come off the top like a weather vain
Single You Out: J-Live – Numbers And Letters (ft. Rome Supreme)
J-Live is dropping his new album, How Much Is Water?, a little later on this month, meanwhile he drops the single, Numbers and Letters, featuring Rome Supreme. This track is about coming to the realization of self-worth and confidence to attain the individual victory. It’s all about understanding the past to seize the future. Powerful messages released.
Single You Out: Shabaam Sahdeeq – Get It (prod. by Big Ape)
Shabaam Sahdeeq has been steadily dropping releases for the better part of two decades. That type of longevity is hard to duplicate these days. The best part of it is, that he gets better with every release. He’s not stale, he is more dynamic than ever. A true master of his craft flippin’ over this Big Ape beat, representing for his upcoming project dropping this month, Modern Artillery.
DJ Soko – Take Notes (ft. Hassaan Mackey, Marvwon, and Finale) (Video)
This video represents one of the many ill tracks that can be found on DJ Soko’s new album, Domino Effect. Man, Hassan Mackey, Marvwon, and Finale body this tight beat from Soko. The flows are certified, legitimate, and complimentary. I am particularly fond of Finale dropping some mythology on us with the Icarus line.
Be sure to check out thew new album!
Single You Out: Mayhem & The Soulslicers – Patriots (ft. Edo G, M-Dot & Big Shug) (Prod. The Soulslicers)
This is the second single from Mayhem and The Soulslicers collaborative album, Soul It May Seem. I do have to say that I am not a Patriots fan of any sort but I will support these guys for the duration. Patriots is a tribute to Boston and sports team. It also showcases the gang’s creativity with M-Dot, Edo G, and Mayhem all taking on a color of the franchise to show their support. Big Shug lends his talents and skills to doing the hook. Very creative material.
Single You Out: Nefew – Feel This
Nefew has a new track out that features the sounds and samples of jazz legend, Charles Mingus. It’s a really slick track that features duos own production as well, flexing their dexterity. Enjoy this, as it seems they are going to be cranking out some free joints for the foreseeable future.
