DJ Skizz – Triboro Thoro (ft. Hannibal Stax, Big Noyd, & Panchi) (Video)

Brooklyn resident, and Boston native, DJ Skizz is set to release his highly anticipated debut producer album,B.Q.E. (Brooklyn-Queens Experience) on 6-23-2013.  This track is a video single for that same project and as you can hear from this joint, it’s that grimy and gritty hip hop that we all love and appreciate.  I especially love to see Big Noyd on a track again.   I have always enjoyed that flow and it’s like son hasn’t aged a bit since the late 90s!  I am definitely looking forward to this project.

The Other Guys – When The Music Stops (feat. Substantial) (Video)

Hip Hop done the right way!  That’s what I have to say about this.  The Other Guys link up with Substantial for a verse to create this smooth and melodious cut.  The production is easy going and smooth and the emcees relate to a time when the industry required it’s talent to…well, have actual talent.  Lets face it, it’s not longer the skills that pay the bills, it’s the image.  But these guys are having none of that.

You can find this cut on The Other Guys’ album, The Other Album.

Earatik Statik – Big Fire (Video)

It’s been a long while since I had heard any music from Earatik Statik.  It might have been Myspace days type of long but then I see they have this new cut, Big Fire, and it’s like they haven’t even missed a beat.  The voices and the flow are still better than capable and this pulsating beat make this a winner.  I know the single drops in stores tomorrow.  I hope that this is a prelude to a full length because these guys have a habit of dropping dope releases!

Archie Bang – Rebirth (Of Ill) (Video)

I like this artist, Archie Bang.  He’s got a really nice flow and presence on the microphone.  It’s definitely something that I can feel.  I also like the whole song concept.  The direction of the video and how that concept was implemented was really on point. I don’t shout out directors of music videos very often but this one was exceptional, Melyssa Vasquez.  Archie Bang’s new EP, Never Say Die should be out soon.   Can’t wait to hear it now.
