Taiyamo Denku put me on to his latest piece of work, Bottom To The Top, produced by Dcypha. My first thought when hearing this track is that this is hype hip hop lullaby. The music from Dcypha definitely lends itself to a more mellow approach but these emcees are not interested in anything soft. Denku, Black Rob, and Urban Legend all drop some hard hard bars with their own unique stylings. Stay tuned for more music from Denku. Dude is always working.
Single You Out: Vorheez – Leverage (prod. by LuvJonez)
I feel like I have been waiting for this Vorheez album, Say Anything, for a couple of years at least. Both Vorheez and producer LuvJonez take a laid back approach to this latest cut, Leverage. The production has almost a melodic quality to it while Vorheez’s voice cascades many dope bar across it.
As soon as I hear that the album is dropping, I will let you all know.
Single You Out: Gripz – One Bar (prod. by Ear2ThaBeat)
Gripz comes back with a ferocious new single from his forthcoming album which will hopefully be dropping in the first quarter of 2015. This song provides an intensity that is currently missing in the game. Gripz’s flow seems more tenacious than ever. If the album maintains this kind of lyrical fury we could all be in for something special.
Single You Out: Revalation – This That Work (Prod Cool FD)
Cool FD is a great producer but this is one of his very best from this year and he’s linking up with the right team in Revalation from EMS. These guys deliver a true banger with seamless effort.
Single You Out: King Magnetic – Our War (prod. by Marco Polo)
In light of Ferguson and a multitude of injustices that have been contrived by law enforcement and the legal system, King Magnetic licks off some shots over some Marco Polo production. You can only stay on the sidelines for so long, and the art of hip hop can surely provide a venue for the rage and anger people feel.
Look out for more from King Magnetic very soon.
Single You Out: Masstapeace – God’s Calling (ft. Renzo)
Masstapeace is back after a three year hiatus with their lead single from their forthcoming project dropping in 2015. This song, produced by C-Lance, is certain fire. I have a Masstapeace album and I don’t remember the crew ripping like this for sure. It certainly makes me curious what this new album is going to sound like. Stay tuned.
CF (Constant Flow) – Dog Tags (ft. Swave Sevah and Akir) (Video)
CF is artist whose intensity is hard to duplicate on the mic. The man spits with such fervor that as a listener you can feel the emotion that he puts into his craft. The man is an ill emcee but also incredibly articulate and educated which makes him dangerous and elite emcee. To add a little propane to those flames, you also have Swave Sevah and Akir dropping some verses.
You can find more dope material from CF if you cop his most recent release, Ascension.
Single You Out: Macabeats – The Fix Remix (prod. by Cool FD)
The Fix from Macabeats and Cool FD’s project, Pardon My French, gets the remix treatment. Macabeats’ flow is on clear display for all to hear on this track while Cool FD reworks the headnodder. The first run through was a win and I think this second time is a flawless victory. Peep the project if you have not already done so.
Single You Out: Jus Daze – Fly Away (J’s Dedication)
Jus Daze wins again by delivering heart and soul in a musical package. Daze gives this musical dedication to a friend who has overcome an addiction as he continues to drop purposeful songs to the masses that endear listeners to his art.
