John Reilly narrates three stories of rejection in the romance game over a production from Rediculous. Reilly addresses every man’s worst nightmare from Elementary School to High School, but then hits you with word of perseverance on the third verse. This is a refreshing track to be sure.

Some new music from DJ Ready Cee featuring El Gant and J. Blanc, hit the inbox and when that happens, it’s always worth sharing. El Gant spits some gasoline over this fire production from Ready Cee. I love the sounds he cultivated on this joint, in particular that horn sample!

Single You Out – Marlon Craft – Empathy
I was searching through someone’s Twitter feed for something and I came across this artist, Marlon Craft. There was a picture of him rocking’ a crowd and I thought I would check him out. I am left considering him a force to reckoned with. HIs style is really different and the production he uses has a very jazzy vibe. I think he is a unique talent to be sure. Check out the rhymes on this track.
Single You Out: Illmac – Second Wind (prod. by Chase Moore)
Illmac and Chase Moore team up again and release abounding goodness with the single, Second Wind. And forgive me, but if Illmac needed a second wind, he didn’t show it. He has been killing the game. And if he has gotten a second wind then the rest of the industry should be put on notice. This song is something else. If you are blessed with a nice day today, roll the windows down in the whip, and ride to this. This is certain dope!
Single You Out: Jonwayne – Ted Talk
Jonwayne has received a lot of acclaim from hip hop fans but admittedly I had never heard him. I think this will change after hearing this track, Ted Talk. It’s clearly hip hop inspiration coming at you. The track is not only dark and sinister but exceptionally interesting with the breaks, scratches, and different tones heard through out. Wayne, with a conversational style, actually sounds like he could be on stage giving you, well….a Ted Talk.
The album Rap Album Two is dropping next Friday. I am going to check it out.
Single You Out: Superior – Mastermind (feat. Verbal Kent)
Superior is a producer who is dropping an album on February 17th, entitled The Journey. He has dropped a slew of singles and I haven’t featured them as much as I should so let me share this Verbal Kent joint with you. You can hear that gritty boom bap in his production with the heavy drums, and vocal samples. And Kent is a natural over such productions, channeling the master plans of characters such as Walter White. Really good stuff.
Single You Out: Taiyamo Denku – Indifference (ft Bankai Fam) (Prod Dcypha)
The Bankai Fam links up with Milwaukee’s own, Taiyamo Denku for this ill Dcypha produced joint. The production has a dark and mysterious quality about it, while the emcees show a tenacious appetite for destruction in every bar. This is a heavy banger.
Single You Out : Archie Bang – John Wick (prod. By maticulous)
I really feel the music that Archie Bang has put out thus far and even though this song is obviously released in conjunction with the latest Wick movie, it doesn’t make in any less dope. If anything this is one of the dopest hip hop cuts that may play during cinema this year. Respect what Bang brings to the table over this sinister production from maticulous.
Single You Out: Awaxx – Bring It Back (ft. Griff Cowan)
Awaxx, Griff Cowan, and Sultan Mir combine to show their disdain for the current state of commercial hip hop. You get the traditional boom bap flavor with the horns and heavy drums from Sultan Mir, while Awaxx and Cowan showcase their love for hip hop in lyricism.
If I am reading the Bandcamp page right, it looks like Mir and Awaxx have a collaborative album in the works. That should be dope.
Single You Out: Malachi x Interstate Mook – Liu Kang (ft. Case)
It’s been a minute since we have featured some NSD flavor, but this is a nice start for 2017. Malachi delivers a slightly sinister production on Liu Kang for guests Interstate Mook and Case to spit some unsavory bars over.
It’s decisively different from the typical NSD flavor but equally as potent.
