These two have come serious heat dropping at least 32 bars a piece of street knowledge. These guys (Spark Ly’riq and Manna Maestro) have my attention now. Keep sending me material fellas.
New music from Goldini Bagwell is always a good thing. He’s the most unique member of the Sandpeople camp stylistically. This is the initial single for his forthcoming SecondHand Smoke project. Production comes from Chase Moore and Hippie Sabotage. The track is laid back, yet well written.
Another installment of the Pay Day series delivered by SYG while we await Cold Winters and Warm Whiskey 2 dropping on February 21st. Although half of the track is an excerpt of a Rodney Dangerfield stand up bit, the initial musical offering remains dope.
Here we go on some ‘Soldier Of Fortune’ type sh-t or do we? I was expecting some banging boom bap but this cut has some real bluesy flavor and very musical. I am really feeling this. It is very different in it’s tone. Of course you add heavyweights such as Maffew Ragazino and AG Da Coroner and it’s going to be hard to pass this one up. This cut is off of Dj Brown 13’s forthcoming EP, F.A.T.
New music from The Regiment featuring Toki Wright on the mic and Nick Speed for the high energy production. Dope joint. Apparently the duo have an album dropping soon with production done entirely by Speed. I have enjoyed their music thus far and definitely interested in hearing their new project.
I am really waiting on K-Hill’s new EP, Achilles’ Hill, and the forthcoming album by the same title in the summer. This track is a combination of soulful instrumentation and vocal samples with K-Hill’s authoritative boom-bap delivery. K-Hill just has that voice that sticks with you. There is also a bonus remix to be downloaded by IMAKEMADBEATS. The EP drops on February 26th.
This song was destined for Halloween rather than Valentine’s Day. The Audible Doctor and maticulous were up to something rather sinister when they crafted this cut. Seriously, I am not used to The Audible Doctor dropping some darkness but this was type ill…
I was privileged enough to get an advance copy of the album, FIDEL. And let me tell you…whooo-whew! This is going to be a true gem of 2013. There’s some classic material involved. Coal is also one of my favorite tracks from the album. Georgia Anne Muldrow’s beat is subtle yet somehow hooks you. Curly Castro and Has-Lo alternate verses with an interesting concept at hand. I think it’s something you need to listen to…
I love the sound of this song. I like how Chaundon in particular associates the indie hip hop scene with the confines of prison. He really goes at the angle that if an indie rappers tries to make moves it’s easy to get labeled, pigeon holed, and left for proverbial dead. Really tight song and some food for thought to boot…
