Longshot introduces his next project, Instant 4 Eternity, with his lead single, Weak. This song is an important social commentary on domestic abuse. It is an interesting first choice as a single. It’s not your typical banger but then again it’s not your typical content either. Maybe that’s the point. At any rate, this is Longshot’s first album in quite a while and I am looking forward to giving it a listen. Production comes courtesy of Lazerbeak.
Single You Out: Solo For Dolo – Lost Sons
Here’s some new material from Solo For Dolo entitled Lost Sons. It’s a somber and somewhat introspective track that is the byproduct of a little fortune and a lot of talent. Fortune came into play when he found the instrumental he crafted long ago just by chance, and heck, you can hear the talent portion. Enjoy…
Single You Out: Ancient Alienz – Grunge (Produced By Joey Juggz)
We have yet more dope from the NSD camp…Aren’t we about due for that Ancient Alienz album yet? This joint is something you will want to turn up and knock on maximum levels. It’s short but potent to say the least. Loving the banging piano keys…
Single You Out: Spit Gemz – Tell-Tale Heart (ft. Spent DNero) (prod. Tre Eiht Special)
Leave it to Spit Gemz to flip an Edgar Allen Poe title into straight hip hop flavor. This is one of my favorite tracks from the album, FVCK THE RADIO: END THE TV. “I set my soul on fire just so I can see in the dark” This man just has an incredibly unique way of approaching the craft as an emcee. I strongly recommend copping the album. When I went to his band camp page I saw that the album was $12…I did not hesitate one iota. I knew it was going to be worth the bread.
Single You Out: Awaxx – Till The End (Produced By DJ Bless)
I’m back to support another part of the backbone of HHD, Never So Deep. DJ Bless never disappoints with his production and that story continues with another dark banger. Awaxx shows apt competency to rock the mic. He doesn’t possess the best flow I have ever heard but certainly does justice to the track that we have in front of us. I look forward to hear more before I pass judgement…
Single You Out: Punchline – Dream Chasing (Ft. Niyah, Fokis, The 17th & Asha)
Punchline brings us a new and dope cut to enjoy bringing alongside label mates Fokis and The 17th among others to showcase their talents. The song has a great vibe and really got me in the mood to post some doper material I have been put on to as of late. One of the things that is subtle and may go unnoticed is the added vocal touches in the background. The devil is in the details and that puts this track just up one more notch.
Single You Out: Praverb – Super Saiyans (Feat. Thee Tom Hardy)
There’s no better way to get these new posts rolling then with the man Praverb and Thee Tom Hardy coming together for a new single. What a great collabo! It’s a very soulful and bluesy cut. The cutz on the track are provided by DJ Grazzhoppa and Sourface on the boards. This is just easy going, feel good music.
Single You Out: Serge Severe – It’s Like That (prod. by 5th Sequence)
Serge Severe is back at it for 2013 and dropping that supreme lyricism that has made him a fan favorite here on HHD. This time he is riding that Pete Rock-esque production of 5th Sequence. This is the first audible offering from Boom Bap and Bars Vol.1 available April 16th. Sit back and enjoy….
Single You Out: DJ Tray – The Truth (ft. Tragedy Khadafi, Miilkbone, Godilla, Red Eye & Blacastan)
Yeah, like the Brown Bag AllStars say…it’s undeniable. This is a beast of a track featuring three of my favorite emcees, Godilla, Red Eye, and Blacastan. We all know who Tragedy Khadafi is and what he is capable of. The unknown commodity here is Miilkbone. But he sounds nice with his and doesn’t lose a step when the baton is passed to him on the track. This is indeed the first leak off Miilkbone’s mixtape (TBA) hosted by DJ Doo Wop coming out spring 2013
Single You Out: Dead Poets Society – Stop Me
This is a joint that serves as segue between SGT OVER’s projects from last year and Just Putt’s forthcoming Spaceman Judah EP. You know the deal with this duo…tight flows w/o the candy coated lyricism.
