This joint is from DPSMG signee, Toke. Dead Poet Society has been in my music rotation since their self-titled EP. They always drop some material so I wanted to check this new artist out. Truthfully, a minute and thirty seconds is not a good enough listen, but what I did hear I liked. I just wish it was a full length cut so I could see what he was truly capable of. But we will keep our eyes and ears open.
Ok. I almost didn’t check this. At this point in the game I judge a book on a cover. I never knew blogging would come down to this but when you are getting dozens of submissions a day it is what it is…
I almost passed on, Dubby, because, well, I don’t like the name…Dubby. But that’s not pertinent. What is pertinent is that Dubby can flow and the song goes. He’s got a gravelly quality in his voice that you would not expect. I like it a lot. It’s just plain good music.
If you want to download this track…DO SO.
Second single of the day from Stu Bangas forthcoming album, Straight Death 2 this time featuring the incomparable Spit Gemz. Anyone think this album, will NOT knock? I didn’t think so.
This is the first of two singles I will be posting today from Stu Bangas’ Straight Death 2 project which is set to drop digitally on April 8th, and heck that ain’t too far away to get your hands on some audio dope.
Pretty much the title says it all: This joint is a dark banger that is meant to beat you upside the head.
I missed this joint from earlier this month, and it’s definitely worthy of posting. Uncommon Nasa links with the talented producer Willie Green and the legend, Prince Po for this track Frequent Flyers. This track can be found on Uncommon Nasa’s forthcoming album, Land Of The Way It Is.
I am not big on putting up YouTube videos as a “single” but I am really not given a choice. I would rather get the word out on this dope release than ignore it. KEY N ONE release We Do Rough as a prelude to their album, Samples, Beats & Insomnia : The Lifestyle. Each guest verse is proper as is the production. So enjoy this joint…
Regrettable I am short on time so I am going to use the artist’s blurb for the track description:
When you describe Ruste Juxx, you must call him the “Hardest from the Underground”, his resume speaks for itself. The Boot Camp emcee who hails from Killer Crown Heights has without a doubt etched his name in brownstone as one of the premier emcee’s to ever come out of Brooklyn, NY.
Collaborating with fellow Brooklyn resident and suberb wordsmith Skyzoo, the duo combine to show you whose “Brooklyn’s Finest”. Over the VStheBest produced track, Ruste Juxx and Skyzoo take you thru a tour of Crooklyn.
Ruste Juxx starts the track by showing respect to the hood that help hone his skills as an emcee, then turns it up and bodies the track with a ill 16. Not to be out done, Skyzoo shows that his place as one of the best lyricist in the game is not to be taken lightly. Its only right that Juxx and Skyzoo connect on this track, having both drop stellar albums in 2012 on the Duck Down Label.
I am already a fan of CuzOH Black and I was intrigued by a producer that goes by the name of Antagonist Dragonspit. I mean that’s a name you won’t see duplicated. Or maybe you will after you hear this beat! Both the beat and the emcee sound like they are telling you a secret…very hushed and muted but infectious nonetheless. Really impressive material about two men just being about their business.
I am going to keep pushing the homie Skeezo until you all take notice. He’s bringing you a project called Face Value like a brick to the face. This track is my favorite thus far but it’s also the toughest. The piano keys and bass line take you right to the street corner and give you a front row seat.
The album is out now on his bandcamp…check it now if you like this cut!
First off, Has-Lo out did himself with this production. What a gem! The resonating guitar is different and absolutely perfect. Zilla Rocca and Roc Marciano absolutely wreck shop with their verses over this piece. They take aim at the hot heads on the corner of the block and how the city will eat it’s young.
I have always been a fan of Zilla Rocca and given a silent nod to Marciano’s work. But this is next level right here. Roc Marciano sounds as though this beat was custom made for him.
This is the first single off of No Vacation For Murder.
