I am really feeling this new track from Wordsmith. He’s bringing a lot of energy to this track. I can’t help but smile when listening to it. The beat by JS AKA The Best has a lot of things going on and is extremely addictive. This is an all around win for hip hop.
Single You Out: Aceric – Sundowners
I am constantly on the lookout for innovation in artistry and that’s why I am bringing you this new music from Ottawa native, Aceric.
The track, Sundowners is a joint that expresses in great complexity, the ups and downs of relationships. The wordplay is big on syllables, assonance, and the abstract. It all makes for an interesting listening experience.
If this is something you are feeling, Aceric’s EP, Ephemeroptera, dropped yesterday.
Single You Out: Macabeats – Killin emcees (ft. Cerebral) (produced by Keno Beats)
Keno Beats put me onto this track he produced for Baltimore emcee, Macabeats. Keno goes heavy with the drums and then delivers with the ‘Dranet-esque’ type horns. And Macabeats it’s wack emcee hunting season and the targets have been set. This joint is a threat so listen with great caution.
Single You Out: CuzOH! Black – First Class (Produced By JS AKA The Best)
Sometimes the mind needs to be refreshed and set anew and that’s what we have with this new music from CuzOH! Black. He takes a tone of acceptance and positivity to move forward in life. A view that we can all take a cue from. Musically, it’s mellow and chill so you can reflect on the artist’s content.
Locksmith – Fleming Street (Video)
The truth is that no one can strike a chord with his or her music like Locksmith can. He makes you feel his angst, anger, pride, and disappointments with every bar. This is my favorite cut from his latest album, The Green Box. It expresses raw emotion and it’s hard to beat that on any given day.
Nutso & DJ Low Cut – Shut’Em Down (Video)
You support who you want to support, but as for me, I back individuals like Nutso and DJ Low Cut. They have a new project dropping on June 3rd entitled, In The Cut. They’ve individually have brought you nothing but the best in boom bap hip hop, so would you expect any different when they team up?
Poe Mack – Tragedy or Triumph (prod. by D.R.U.G.S. Beats) (Video)
Latest video from Poe Mack and D.R.U.G.S. Beats’ collaborative album, Poe Mack On D.R.U.G.S. Poe Mack is thinner and lighter and his projects sell faster than flameless candles. (You’ll either get it or you won’t.)
Single You Out: UGLY HEROES (Apollo Brown, Vebral Kent, Red Pill) – Hero’s Theme
Ugly Heroes is comprised of Apollo Brown, Verbal Kent, and Red Pill, and their self-titled album dropped today. I am listening to it right now. It’s bluesy and somber. It’s also something that real people who have real problems will be able to relate to. This ain’t your silver spoon music! If you like this track, you can cop the album, here.
Single You Out: Supastition – Outcome
Little did Supastition know where his musical prowess was going to take him, and hence we have the track, Outcome. This is actually a bonus track available on the CD version of The Black Board EP, which we reviewed here.
The track, like all other tracks from Supastition is dope. His relatability and introspection have created a genuine relationship with the musician and his fans. The track is produced by Microphono.
Single You Out: Undefined – Broken 40 Bottles (ft. Brown Bag AllStars)
Producer, Undefined, solicits the help of the Brown Bag AllStars for his lead single from his forthcoming EP, Certified-A-Side. This type of music should get kudos from heads across the board.
