Single You Out: Phene – In My Backyard

Phene%20-%20In%20My%20Backyard%20(artwork600)

I am digging the staccato flute sample over these hitting drums from Nick The Quick.  It’s a nice touch.  I’ve always felt Phene’s flow and felt that once people heard his offering, they would be hooked.  It sounds like he’s making moves, and that’s just plain good for hip hop.

He’s got a new project, Revelation 717, that has no release as of yet but should be coming soon.

Single You Out: Ante Meridian – Nat King Cobra

 ante

Rozewood and Mr. Enok team up to form the Ante Meridian.  They have a project launching this month.  The 25th to be exact, entitled Sons Of Heaven.  I think it goes without saying after you hear this track that you know the whole album will be fire.

I have heard a couple of joints and it has all been flawless.  I mean 5 out of 5 type ish.  These guys are just catching bodies with these vibes, they are burying you in their backyard!  Pure fire.

Single You Out: Reckonize Real – Shattered Dreams (ft. Wordsworth)

Shattered Dreams Big

Well, I had to get out of dodge for a moment so I am about a week and a half delayed in posting some things.  This particular track is coming from Queens, NYC producer, Reckonize Real.  The track is a single off of his forthcoming album, Dopamine, and features the much talented and respected emcee, Wordsworth.  It’s smoothed out from top to bottom.  A combination of introspective lyricism and mellow vibes.  I hope you enjoy.

Single You Out: Charmingly Ghetto – I’ve Arrived (ft. Reks, Murph Watkins, and Katrina Renee)

newarrived3

This is the first single we have featured from Charmingly Ghetto’s latest project, Of The Meaning Of Progress, which you can download at DJ Booth.

This track has it all.  It’s got the dope emceeing from the aforementioned Charmingly Ghetto, Murph Watkins, and the brilliant Reks.  ATG handles the beat while Katrina Renee caresses the hook.

Don’t sleep!

Soulslicers – Another Part Of History (ft. El Lay and Sparkingtin)

The Soulslicers know beats.  Period.  These guys are crafting their rhythms to the top of the class.  I have really enjoyed everything that they have put out.

This cut is coming from their Slice Of Life mixtape which can be downloaded at DJ Booth.  In terms of the emcees featured, we have bicoastal affair with El Lay and Sparkingtin each giving it a go around on the mic device.

Enjoy!

Single You Out: Godilla – Hardcore Styles (ft. Tug McRaw) *Exclusive*

hardcore styles pic

I am incredibly honored that Godilla blessed HHD with this new single (exclusive for the moment) featuring Tug McRaw.  Quite simply, Hardcore Styles bangs!  This beat along with the scratching is just plain infectious.  The verbage is also quite proper.  Altogether it’s the type of flavor that keeps the block hot and happy.

If you have not checked Godilla’s latest project, Altered Beast, make sure you do that at this point.   That is a literal gift to hip hop heads because it’s free.  Also, I feature the homie Godilla quite a bit but I don’t often get a chance to share Tug McRaw’s material with you.  The man has an ill voice and demeanor and you will be hearing a lot more material in the near future.  Tell me that second verse wasn’t fire….

Reks – The Molotov (Video)

I just copped and finished listening to Revolution Cocktail a few days ago.  Reks never fails to impress.  He has one of the best deliveries in the game. His technique and skill has become incredibly polished over the years.  He also has consistently put out dope material year after year.   It’s that consistency that puts him in that ‘elite’ category.  The rhyme schemes and phrases he puts together in The Molotov are nothing short of impressive.  I am also a fan of the simplicity of the video.  It’s pretty amazing how impressive a video can be when dealing with red/black and a head shot.

I encourage everyone to cop the album.  Reks is a Top 10 emcee in my opinion and deserves the support.
