Single You Out: Rome Clientel – Champions (ft. Realm Reality & Skyzoo) (prod. DJ Concept)

photo

Rome Clientel is back with another single from the The Empire 3: Coronation project that has a set date of October 14th (which isn’t that far now). The cut, entitled Champions,  finds Rome trading bars with New York lyricists Realm Reality (Infamous) and Skyzoo over production from DJ Concept.  When you have some many talented individuals involved in a cut, it’s impossible for it to be considered anything less than a win.

I think it needs to also be said here that DJ Concept is killing it as of late.  He has had his hand in a number of different projects with a variety of artists and they all come out tight.    Just trying to recognize a major contributor to hip hop when I see one…

Single You Out: Slum Pritt! – Makebeleevas

artworks-000057784847-qd4xk0-t500x500

This is the first time I have featured Slum Pritt! on HHD but this is the third single from his forthcoming project, Awake For The Nightmare.  Throughout the short track he goes on to expose those who are kidding themselves as to who they are.  Joe Burn Em creates an atmosphere through this production that sounds like something from early Jemini The Gifted One (some of you youngins aren’t going to know that reference but oh well).  Check it!

Kon Boogie – The Game Needs Me (Video)

The first visual off Kon Boogie’s free album has arrived. The Game Needs Me is the intro track on Believe Or Never Grow produced by V Dizzle and shot by Live Loud Ent. The video is pretty straightforward and Kon Boogie wastes no time getting in the zone.  It hits some of the main landmarks in his home town of Corona Queens in a fairly creative way. Using on location shots and what seems to be Kon Boogie in front of a projector to break up the sequence and add texture. All in all it’s a great concept for some of these overused locations and definitely worth the watch. His FREE album is still available on his site

Single You Out: Don Streat – Colors Remix (ft. Mayhem of EMS) (prod. by Cool FD)

Don Streat (Baltimore, MD) and Cool FD (Orleans, France) drop the single Colors Remix featuring Mayhem of EMS from their upcoming project named Bare My Soul.   And while I do not have a set release date for the project, knowing the parties involved, I know it’s going to be dope.   Cool FD intermingles funk elements into this hip hop production giving Don Streat and Mayhem something live to spit their verses upon.

FYI…we will be showcasing Cool FD on the first of October so make sure you check back for that.

Single You Out: Sgt Over – The Bad Guy

This was of course released a few weeks ago, but as I was incognito for a moment, it did not get posted.  DPS is fam in these parts as the crew consistently drops dope tracks so it’s little more than a guarantee that their music always wind up on HHD.   This track from SGT. Over doesn’t seem to be destined for any project in particular.   It’s simply a track that lets him distinguish himself from the rest of the pack over a Knox produced track.   He’s just flexing the skills and that’s OK by me.

Note:

I obviously missed this mixtape or else it would have been front and center on HHD much sooner.   This is a compilation of rarities that showcase the crews come up in the mid-to-late 1990s.  These are tracks that they performed as a crew, solo artists, and some guest spots.  I have been an avid listener of NE throughout the years and there are a few tracks on here that I haven’t even heard.  It’s going to make for some good listening mixed by Bad Cop.

One of the reasons that this project is being released now is that A-Butta, Swigga, and Mister Voodoo are back at it making music as a collective again. The one track they have released, All Hail NE, is truly dope and definitely bodes well for their forthcoming projects.  Really excited about this one folks so make sure you give this a listen and get yourself familiar with the crew.  They will be hitting you with some new material shortly.

Single You Out: Vinnie Paz – God Bless

artworks-000057623081-g9lnjk-t500x500

Vinnie Paz is back on his grind…wait did he ever stop?  Nah.  Paz has been incredibly consistent in putting out good work since 1999 when I was rocking the Amber Probe EP on a hiss-happy cassette.   Now, God Bless features Paz at his very best.  He’s got a really nice flow on this joint and producer Mikey Bingo has got the track hoppin’!  Great beat.

This track can be found on Paz’s forthcoming EP, Carry On Tradition, dropping on October 29th.

Lyriciss – Maryland (ft. Pro’verb)

Oh fuck.  This is why I love hip hop.  It’s cuts like these right here that makes heads nod and days brighter.  When it comes to going for delf , Lyriciss and Pro’verb take it there.  Simply one of the best cuts when it comes to emcees repping their spot.  Coming out of PG county with that quotable wordplay.  I especially feel the sports references that Pro’verb is laying down…from Len Bias to the ‘Skins there were no breaks in those 16 bars.  Salute!  This cut is coming off of Lyriciss’ upcoming album, The Balance.  That album will be hitting you on October 29th so do yourself a service and check it.
