Single You Out: Silent Someone – Lab 82 (ft. EL Da Sensei, Oktober Zero, and Shaz IllYork)

Lab

This is a release that has crept up on me because I don’t even know who Silent Someone is.  But now I have a better idea after checking out this tight production.   The somber vocal sample combined with those drums is a nice twist.  I also like how the beat alternates every so often giving it a different sound and an appeal.   Lyrically, Shaz Illyork, El Da Sensei, and Oktober Zero pay homage to the art of graffiti and do so properly.

Silent Someone’s new album, I Have Company is due any day so just keep your eyes peeled.

Single You Out: Gore Elohim (Non Phixion) – Children Of Doom (ft. Red Eye x Born Unique x Venom) (Prod by Beatahoe)

New single from Gore Elohim (formerly known as Goretex from Non Phixion) entitled Children Of Doom.  The track features fellow heavy hitters Red Eye,  Born Unique, and Venom. The Production comes to us courtesy of Beatahoe.

This is coming off of his new album, Electric Lucifer, which you can order from his website now.  And as I understand it, this will be hitting all digital distributors on October 31st.   I have yet to listen to the album but the reaction from those who have heard it has been extremely positive.   If this track is any indication I would say it’s DAMN good.

Friday Feature: Printz of Peepz – Moments In Love Remix

artworks-000060996935-urc9rs-t500x500

Printz of Peepz is back for the 4th and final installment of his Friday Feature series.  For the final track, he has elected to drop something totally different for the masses to contemplate.   The song is called the Moments In Love Remix and is produced by Face Valyou.  The cut is a re-rendering of an Art of Noise song circa ’82-83.  It’s tracks like these that show an artists’ versatility.  It was so different from the previous installments I was caught a little off guard.  The BPM is at a fraction of the pace I have heard PoP spit on but once I got to the chorus I was sold on the vibe.  This joint has a very ethereal sound to it as PoP contemplates love and those instance that conjure those ‘special’ feelings.

Remember if you are feeling Printz of Peepz music, follow him on Twitter, Facebook, and Soundcloud so you can stay current.  I hope you all enjoyed these fresh sounds!

Alterbeats – Idol (ft. Bekay) (Video)

Alterbeats outdid himself with this production and Bekay was the perfect emcee to drop those lava rocks all across it.   This is just one of those perfect combinations.  The strings with the oriental flare over the crescendo of boom-bap flavor makes hip hop heads of all walks happy campers.  Class Struggle is dropping in just a few days, so make sure you mark the calendar.

Single You Out: Little Vic – Speak No Evil

artworks-000060993504-mf3al2-t500x500

I absolutely love what Little Vic did with this beat!  That guitar work is just awesome.  I always think of Vic as that superlative rhymer and tend to forget that he has a knack for some dope production.    This song is rapid fire and has Vic spitting flames once again.   I am not sure if this is something that will surface on his album.  If I know Vic, probably not.  He’s prone for just dropping random sickness.

Sleep – How To Rob (prod. By Dope Antelope) (Video)

If I had to pick my new artist of the year (meaning new to me) right now I would be going with the artist Sleep.  I’ll never forget when I heard about the video Leonidas, I was actually checking for another artist who goes by the same name.  Ever since then, this is the Sleep I am checking for.  This guy just gets it.   He has a unique mind for making songs.  He can do the boom-bap that the streets love but he also has the intellect to drop songs that relate to the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.  That’s legit on any level.

Meanwhile this song is menacing.  The lyrics…menacing.  The beat by Dope Antelope…menacing.   This is terrorist music and I mean that in a good way.
