I think everyone who heard Devine Carama’s last album, Blood Of a Slave, knew it was a winner. That album knocked, was introspective, and soulful. Well now, he’s back with the first release off of his new album Heart Of A King. Golden Era Flow has got that jazzy vibe. I became aware of Dirt Platoon because of their association with producer, DJ Brans. They put together an EP (Start Ya Bids) in late 2011 that I thought was very good. These guys embody the terminology, ‘rugged-n-rough’. Here they team up with another favorite, Fel Sweetenberg.
Chief Kamachi is a very underrated artist. I always feel Kamachi’s lyrics. This song is intelligent and knocks. Apparently he has a project dropping this coming Tuesday entitled, Rise & Rhyme Vol. 1. Cop that!
Here’s a new jam from the right and honorable, Zilla Rocca. Dr. Quandary laces a track that I can best describe as being nostalgic. Everyone does their thing on this track but the more I hear from Open Mike Eagle, the more I am becoming a fan.
Rule of thumb…Falside produces it…I post it. Damn! Double Damn! You have to love this beat. This joint was knocking my computer speakers! Dirty Hank and Reason have very different styles and voices but that really plays well here. I think everyone will enjoy this!
New heat from the fam at Elementality! This single is from newcomer to the label, Justin Bates, but backed musically, by production staple, Analogic. This song is uptempo and positive. Justin Bates has a different flow for this track in that the bars are choppy, but it goes with the staccato piano riff that Analogic is using. Check back for more of Justin Bates…
Ooooh. We have a tough joint here. Really tough. I am not sure who did the beat, but I really like it . It’s perfect for a posse cut of this magnitude. All of the verses were on point. In short, I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Blacastan’s upcoming album, The Master Builder Part II, drops on March 13th. You have been warned.
Is this the first video from PremRock and Willie Green’s self-titled album? Can’t say for sure. This track is dope regardless and worthy of the visual treatment. The conversational style is pretty unique because the pace and length of the track is likened to someone just talking to you. After watching this video, I really have a new appreciation for Open Mic Eagle’s verse. It was stalwart. Be sure to check out my review for the album, and cop it. It’s great music by any standard.
