I said it before and I will say it again: I am always down for some Scifi Stu production. On Love And War, Stu gets those piano keys moving while Sleep Sinatra and Smoovth (Tha Connection) brought the streets to the track. Chinch 33 on the cuts…making it extra saucy for the masses.
N.B.S. takes it from the salon back into the streets and then proceeds to sever heads over a hard Alkota produced rhythm, with an assist from R-E-K-S. This joint will instantly be added to my rotation. It just knocks. I just copped their new album, The Smokefest, earlier today. I haven’t listened to it yet, but there’s no doubt that the albums going to be filled with bangers.
It’s certified boom bap in every sense of the word. Alterbeats bodies this production and Alpha Faktion continues to show and prove with a high level of skill, personality, and chemistry. Artists like Alterbeats and Alpha Faktion seemingly click perfect to bring you the very essence of hip hop. This my friends is what his hop should sound like! Make sure you check out the Alpha Faktion’s EP from earlier this year, Truth, Lies, & Audiotape. That’s certified as well.
Rahim Samad keeps the momentum building for his Travel Properly: The Soundtrack. For the single, Do Your Thing, it’s an Ontario and Tampa connection as Samad taps Elaquent for the joint’s production. The track is vibrant, uptempo, with a good nature. It’s that feel good music with an edge.
It’s time for another Producer’s Spotlight and this time we are going more domestic than imported. IMAKEMADBEATS is the first producer from the United States to be featured in this segment and we are really proud to showcase his talents on HHD. He’s worked with some incredibly talented artists but some of his best work can be featured on MidaZ the Beast’s new album, AU: Another Universe. I don’t post promotional material as a rule of thumb, but I have a special place in my heart for music made by the Local-Mu12 collective. I have actually been asking about the status of this release for a couple of months now as it was originally slated for a Labor Day release. It got pushed back with the ever popular TBD release. But now it’s hitting the interwebs on December 17th so write that date down. This is a quick sampler of the entire album and if this doesn’t wet your appetite, you MFers can simply stay malnourished!

Pritt’s rhymes reflect a local incident that occurred approximately 34 years ago in which five people were killed by Ku Klux Klansmen. Do yourself a favor and do the knowledge.
I was waiting for a way to show case this song, Sanctuary, from Rayce, and this evening I get wind of this new video. It’s an ‘ask an you shall receive’ sort of thing. Anyway…Rayce invites the many elements of hip hop into this track from the krylon to the B-Boy stance, you get a little taste of it all over this DJ Impact beat. Rayce is a guy you should be looking out for. He’s got good command of his craft and makes good music.
Rayce never told me if this track was destined for a particular project, so you will just have to enjoy for the sake of enjoyment.
One Dae drops the title track from his forthcoming album dropping in a couple of weeks. This time he solicits the excellence of C-Rayz Walz to share the mic duties and Ayatollah to craft the production. And that my friends is how audio crack is created!
