Here’s another single from GQ Nothin Pretty’s new album, Animation. Oh you don’t have that! Big dummy. This joint is raw. I steadily bump his joint with Tragedy Khadafi, High Quota, as one of the best tracks this year. And this track with King Magnetic and Ruste Juxx is right on par with that. Trilian on the beat!
Koss – Longevity (ft. Masta Ace) (Video)
Video single featuring Masta Ace from Koss’ new album, Born To Live. I have to show this album so love because it really typifies everything we are about it. It’s those fresh beats, slick scratches, and dope rhymes. We really couldn’t ask for more. Make sure you check this one out.
By the way…those scratches…come courtesy of none other than DJ Grazzhoppa.
Prozack Turner – Not Everybody Sleeps At Night (Video)
This is Proczack Turner’s title track off of the new album which is coincidentally really good. It’s got a jazzy and funky vibe to it. Something to roll the windows down when you cruise the city in the evening. C’mon…grab a little bit of the night life!
Special Teamz – Voltron (Video)
Man, if Jaysaun, Ed OG, and Slaine decide to drop an album you can call it game over for the competition! I mean check out what they do over this Teddy Roxpin production! This is probably one of the ills competitions in the game and I can only hope that lightning strikes twice when it comes to an album.
As it is, this is off of Jaysaun’s forthcoming project…and that’s going to be certified ill in it’s own right.
Single You Out: Ekundayo x Spitzwell – Looking Down
This is my favorite track off of Ekundayo and Spitzwell’s collaborative effort, Magnificent Brilliance. Listen to this production from Spitzwell! How dope is that craftsmanship?!?!?! You know it’s special. The violin/fiddle is legit along with the varying ways it is applied throughout the song. And Ekundayo’s flow is something serious, flipping intricate lyricism on the thin line of life and death.
Enjoy this one people!
Single You Out: Coal Cash – Whatever Dreams May Come (ft. Taboo)
I saw Coal Cash (Double Negative) had a new album out on Bandcamp, Unsung, and I really have liked what I have hear from him thus far, so I am checking it out. And it’s a definite win! This album is big on substance, powerful lyricism, and dope production. Father Focus Confucious produced the entire project and did an incredible job.
In order to celebrate the release of this project and get the word out, I wanted to showcase this track featuring his compadre Taboo. The two have such great chemistry and create some powerful bars that play so well off of each other. It’s over eight minutes of brilliance.
Apollo Brown x Planet Asia – The Aura (Video)
Who’s excited about this collaborative project from Apollo Brown and Planet Asia, Anchovies, dropping next Friday? I know I am. These two artists are at the top of their game right now. Brown gives us blessings in the subtlest of forms with a stripped down, yet impactful production. Asia CONSISTENTLY proves that he has one of the sharpest flows in the game without a let down.
Single You Out: Taboo – Hero’s Journey
In terms of interesting and well crafted lyricism, Taboo, is among the best. When I get word that he has some new music, it’s gotten to the point it’s an INSTANT cop. His entire 64 bars here is rewindable. So many quotables intermingled with an amazing flow. Stay tuned for more…
M-Dot – Foreign (prod by Jon Glass) (Video)
More music from M-Dot? Yes sir, please! Foreign is another dope cut from the impeccable album, EgO anD The EneMy. And no people, this craft is not as easy as it looks, even though M-Dot may make it look effortless. The man who is on a hot streak right now when it comes to beats, Jon Glass, stands responsible for the production.
Vinnie Paz – The Ghost I Used To Be (ft. Eamon) (Video)
Vinnie Paz lets loose another video from his solo project from last year, The Cornerstone Of The Corner Store. Vinnie is narrating on the evil than men do for the sake of the dollar and the control it has over people. The track also features a gritty hook from Eamon and production from C-Lance.
Hopefully you have already checked the album, if not, go check it out now.
