Single You Out: Spittzwell – Style Wars (ft. Jarren Benton)

Here’s some hotness from emcee, Spittzwell.  Everything I have heard from him as an artist has been definitely remarkable and memorable.  Style Wars, featuring Jarren Benton, has everything I love about a track.  The production (self-produced) has those neck snapping drums and the lyricism/flows are more than just solid, they are exceptional

You can find this cut off of Spittzwell’s new project. Luke P.

Single You Out: Little Vic – HAARP

littleVicLoosies2

Little Vic is back with some new and rare music from his vaults.  The man really has been prolific over the years, but much of it has not yet been heard.   Now enter his upcoming project, Loosies 2, which is set to drop later this month.   Here you will get to hear some of the depth of his work.  But for now check the single, HAARP.  There’s a little double etendre happening here, if you are able to pick it up.

Interview Series: Taboo – Question 1

Bad_Karma_0258

We here are Hip Hop Dependency are really excited to bring you our first interview feature in years!  And this really came to fruition out of true admiration for a man and his craft.  Taboo has been one of the most creative rhyme writers over the course of the last few years.   His music only gets better with time.  His concepts and lyricism vary in range but ultimately are consistent in artistry and quality.

We really wanted to take the time to showcase and perhaps introduce Taboo to our readership in a way that provided depth.  The man took the time to video his responses to our questions, giving this series a depth we hadn’t seen before.  I really hope that you all will take the time to watch this series, so that you too can appreciate his unique and talented contribution to hip hop.  Every day, for the next ten days we will be delivering his answers to our questions and showcasing some of our favorite music from him.

A. Fontaine – This Is Hip Hop (ft. On Point, Exta Ammo, and Onesun) (Video)

I admit, I have slept on the Crazemen but that’s not going to last for long.  This is a tough track from member, A. Fontaine.  These gents are bodying the bars and toe-tagging the beat.   Real comprehensive hip hop experience on this track that I think everyone will love.

My one gripe is that I went looking for more in the form of Fontaine’s album, The Reincarnation of Castro, but it was nowhere to be found.  It was supposed to have dropped on the 23rd, but I haven’t seen it yet, and no word from the camp.  But be ready, it’s going to be dope!

Single You Out: B Leafs – Frozen Flows (ft. Akrobatik x Krumbsnatcha x Weapon E.S.P.)

bleafFF-450x450

Here’s a fresh single off of producer B Leaf’s forthcoming album featuring emcees, Akrobatik, Krumbsnatcha, and Weapon E.S.P.   There’s a lighthearted vibe to the track but also a certain intensity brought by the emcees and scratched in by DJ Slipwax.

I am not too sure about the project on a whole but I am sure we will hear something in the coming months.   Enjoy for now.
