Starvin B is one of those artists where I have “active listening” for anything that he might be putting out musically. Over the last couple of years, things have been relatively quiet. He’s dropped a couple of videos, and a couple of singles, but out of the blue yesterday, I see that he’s got a new project with producer One-Take. To be fair, the project is a collection of tracks that span the course of a decade of musical collaboration, so this is not all 2026 musical material. But trust when I tell you that all tracks sound just as sharp as the day they were brought into this world. The project sounds cohesive and purposeful, and Starvin B illustrates over the course of eleven tracks why he is one of the elite emcees of this day and age. Fresh Out The Rotten, is a must have for anyone who loves hip hop and lyricism, and of course if you are a Starvin fan…you NEED this.
I decided to showcase the two most recent tracks that the two have done…Free Lunch and Mulberry Street. Check out the flow…especially on Mulberry Street..a relentless assault with expert breath control over a really dope production.
