There are three certain things in life…death…taxes…and Swamp Thing (Timbuktu x Chokeules x Savilion) dropping Halloween mayhem every year with a new album. This year we have Granny Knuckles, dropping on October 24th. And the first taste of the album is here with the video single, Midnight Dangerous, setting the terror off and featuring guest bars from oft collaborator Ghettosocks. Always a great time with great music…fused with clever rhymes and production guaranteed to wake the dead. Don’t miss!
Single You Out: Swamp Thing – Who Let The Goblin Out
Admittedly I might have been near a decade late to what the trio of Timbuktu, Chokeules, and Sivilion were doing on Halloween as Swamp Thing. I went through the discography and I missed a ton, but I have stepped up my game over the last few years to get in tune with the creative boom bap these artists are creating every spooky season.
This year they released the B-Movie inspired banger, Slap Slap. This album is not only incredibly dope but also a lot of fun. Lyrically the emcees are so talented, dexterous, and always on theme. I could have picked any of the tracks off of the album to share but I am going with Who Let The Goblin Out. As that bass line…slaps slaps!
Swamp Thing – Mind Riots (ft. More Or Les x Wordburgular) (Video)
The musical collective known as Swamp Thing dropped it’s annual Halloween special a few days ago with the release, Golden Crab. HipHop fans, including myself look forward to this release every year because of it’s talent and innovation. You are guaranteed to get something dope, yet different, primed on entertainment.
This time, Timbuktu, Chokeules, and Savilion (Swamp Thing) team up with producer Danny Miles for the project. And trust it is dope in it’s entirety. You can here the grimy fun on the above track, with a pulsing baseline and dope verses featuring More Or Les and Wordburgular.
Single You Out: Timbuktu x Ollie Teeba – Fire In Our System

I caught wind of this project from emcee Timbuktu and producer Ollie Teeba and it is pretty damn fresh and re-freshing. A Million Pound Note has a fun and playful vibe while staying deeply ingrained in the spirit of boom bap and extra crafty lyricism. I decided I would share my favorite track from the project. The best way I can describe this track is…a…journey. Enjoy!
