New video from Sleep’s new EP, Branded: The Damon Winton Story. The music and the message take you to an extremely dark place. It’s like God throwing you in the unlit basement and locking the only way out. It’s that kind of dark. But it’s extremely powerful and necessary, because these are the elements and emotions that are facing our children on a daily basis. Sleep makes you feel what this young man was dealing with, which is the point…

Note:
Sleep from 2-Man Cypher has never fallen short on creativity. He has done songs narrating from the perspectives of different individuals. He has even done tracks from the outlook of the devil. And with his latest EP, Branded, he takes creativity to a whole new level.
On this EP, Sleep, takes on the persona of the tragic story of Damon Winton. The story is real, making this EP biographical in context. Branded is the tale of a troubled youth that is abandoned by the system and family that was supposed to protect him. Each song is introduced by a question from a reporter to the social worker in charge. After the social worker answers the reporter’s question in dubious fashion, Sleep narrates a tale from the perspective of Damon. It is incredibly powerful, because this is real life. These are things that happen to children on a daily basis.
Single You Out: Sleep – Cousin of Death (Prod. by Dope Antelope)
Sleep and Dope Antelope don’t stop. They are relentless in bringing that dope material to us in one form or another. Cousin Of Death is simply a banger, no two ways about it.
Kue The Vandal – American Degenerate (Video)
Kue The Vandal drops a tough pill to swallow (literally) with his new track, American Degenerate produced by Dope Antelope. Man, this single gives me some angst. Depressingly dope. I can’t wait to hear the complete project.
2-Man Cypher Interview (2014)
This interview has been a long time in coming. When I heard the 2-Man Cypher (Sleep and Cain) album, Queen City Bastards, I was made into an instant fan. The realism of that album, enhanced by the sheer skill of the emcees was nothing short of amazing. I am of the frame of mind that 2-Man Cypher is going to the top. How can they not? They have all the intangibles. Make sure you pass this interview along and cop that album at all costs. Also, check for their future music projects. It’s all next level material.
Single You Out: Sav Killz – CarnegieHall (ft. Frank Knight) (prod. by Sebastian Sartor)
Sav Killz collabs with Frank Knight (The Fraterinity) to rock over this Sebastian Sartor banger. I am not sure if this slated to be on a project but knowing how prolific Sav Killz has been in the past, we can bet that a project is right around the corner.
Single You Out: Frank Knight – Kings N The Crown (Featuring Con-Plex & MasterMind) (Produced By BigBob Pattison)
Frank Knight is starting to keep me abreast of his musical goings-on and I am glad for that because the man is very talented. Kings N The Crown is a track that can be found off of the Dean’s List On Tour Vol II Mixtape. I can’t speak for the entire project but this track features all of the essentials in the form of slick verses and big beats.
Single You Out: Kue the Vandal – The End (Prod. by Dope Antelope)
Kue The Vandal and Dope Antelope are kicking the music into a high gear. When you hear this song do you feel the Apocalypse coming on? It sounds like it was made at death’s door it is so ominous. This emcee and producer combination is really working well. The two feed off of each other very well creatively. The new EP should hopefully be here very soon. Also be on the lookout for the HHD feature on Dope Antelope coming soon.
2 Man Cypher – Broken (ft. Koren Jackson)
If this song and video doesn’t get you, you are cold m’fer. The illest duo making hip hop takes a look at the bottom of the barrel of humanity with their single, Broken. Sleep and Cocaine Chris are like the ghosts in the room looking at the harm a man can do not only to himself but also his loved ones. If this song sounded dope to you, then I suggest you peep their new project, Queen City Bastards, because the album is loaded with top choice cuts.
Kue the Vandal – The Antichrist (Prod. by Dope Antelope) (Video)
Oh the sound…the sound is amazing. Dope Antelope opens Pandora’s Box to concoct a beat like this. The sample of Big Pun used is simply awesome but the track also has this mysterious quality. Kue the Vandal has no problem dropping the irreverence on the track. This track is coming off the duo’s forthcoming project, The Snuff Project EP.
