Wack rappers best call a full retreat because it’s not safe outside for you when Eff Yoo and Godilla’s project, They Came On Horseback, drops next week. This joint has bars that are toxic to the weak minded. The guys bring a militia with them in the form of Shabaam Sahdeeq, Adlib, Spit Gemz, and UG. Those are top notch artists delivering equally to notch material.
Starvin B – Rap College (ft. Spit Gemz x Tragedy Khadafi) (Video)
Starvin B’s new album, Blood From A Stone is oh so good. It’s one of my favorite albums to play from front to back this year and Starvin’s best work to date. I have yet to meet anyone who disagrees with me on that last point.
One-Take handles all of the production on the album and does an outstanding job. It’s a true head knocker. This track is one of the show stoppers from the album and also shows you that Spit Gemz is as potent as ever with his bars.
“A dollar and a dream will get you a shit sandwich…” <—- Ain’t that the truth!
Spit Gemz – E. Nygma (Video)
I am violating that rule again where I don’t usually post emcees rocking over instrumentals, but when Spit Gemz spits, rules are forgotten and replaced with dope music. Gemz kills this production!
Spit Gemz – Serpents (ft. G.S. Advance) (Video)
Spit Gemz brings back some music from one of my personal favorite mixtapes, Welcome To Hellzgate. I can listen to that album time and time again and it’s nice to see him continue to give those joints the special video treatment though I am not fond of the serpents…tough track though.
Single You Out: Eff Yoo – The Tri-Lateral Commission (ft. Spit Gemz and Starvin B)
Eff Yoo is releasing some dope from his vaults and his first salvo comes in the form of The Tri-Lateral Commission which features the usual suspects of Spit Gemz and Starvin B. Led by a guitar riff, the three emcees spit nothing but bars and leave a hook unnecessary. I hope Eff Yoo has some more gems locked away. It’s too good to leave unheard.
Top 50 Songs (2013)
Disclaimer: It is hard and challenging to pick 50 tracks from the thousands upon thousands that dropped this year. It is merely an attempt to list my favorite cuts of 2012. Click the links to listen to the song! I think it’s a great list. There were a lot of great songs crafted this year and I know I left off some good ones. I listened to 5,000+ tracks from 2012 alone this year, so as an artist, if you made this list you know you are on the forefront of my iTunes!
1. Said Before – Goldini Bagwell
2. Rhyme Of The Year – Nino Bless
4. Outlive, Outshine – Theo3
Single You Out: Spit Gemz – El Estudiante
Spit Gemz is releasing his new project, End The TV in just a couple of days, and I for one simply can’t wait. Ice Rocks laces some beautiful music for Spit Gemz to flow over for the single, El Estudiante. The track plays like a new school version of the Black Sheep classic, The Choice Is Yours. The track and project will come courtesy of 2Dopeboyz and Nahright respectively. Check it!

Spit Gemz – Nelson Muntz / Mystic Moves (Video)
Spit Gemz gives the audience a video ‘double-tap’ with the combination of visuals for Nelson Muntz and Mystic Moves. Gemz is always giving the people the dopest of material. On November 10th he releases his next project for FREE, END THE TV.
AG Da Coroner – Crushed Grapes (2013)
Artist: AG Da Coroner
Album: Crushed Grapes
Tracklisting:
1. Welcome To My World
2. Problem (ft. Lord Nez)
3. Not Gonna Cry
4. Ghetto Love (ft. Lord Nez & M. Reck)
5. Luca Brasi (Sleep)
6. Stars Are Born (ft. M. Reck)
7. What We Have (ft. Meyhem Lauren)
8. Live From Cheeta (ft. Lord Nez, Nutso, Spit Gemz, Realm Reality & Termanology)
9. New York Never Left
Note:
I saw AG Da Coroner make comments on Twitter a few weeks ago suggesting that some underground fans didn’t like Crushed Grapes because it wasn’t all just “hot bars”. I couldn’t fathom it when I read it, so I feel obligated to set people straight. This project is full of not only top notch bars, but also production, guest shots, and content. There’s really no other way to put it. I have never heard the Coroner make anything remotely soft or borderline and to suggest this project is less than stellar seems sacrilegious in the house of hip hop.
