Street Smartz is back with a new joint, What They Came To See, featuring production from Nickel Plated. And he’s giving you that raw hip hop that you’ve been missing. Known for his raw lyricism and gritty delivery, he continues to deliver just that. And this appears to be just the precursur to a new album dropping later this year, All Jokes Aside.
Symph – Choir In The Church (ft. GREA8GAWD) (prod. By Midnite) (Video)
Off of Symph’s forthcoming EP, Hand Of God. Our emcee and guest GREA8GAWD go in over some gospel boom bap production from Midnite. GREA8GAWD brings a lot of passion to his sixteen being conflicted over his own success and his partner’s confinement. Symph on the other hand has a more laid back approach to his mic duties but equally as poignant.
Can’t even blame it on the money, niggas been evil / making to heaven is like a camel through a pin needle / In other words the chances are slim / Y’all should bet it all on us, don’t take no chances with them
Leedz Edutainment – The Darkside (ft. XL The Beast, Ruste Juxx & The Arcitype) (Video)
XL The Beast and Ruste Juxx let their dark sides out over an ominous banger from The Arcitype. The track, brought to you by Leedz Edutainment, definitely has a sinister feel with the emcees letting you into the shadows of their thoughts. The chorus also gives the join a really infectious feel. Definitely a winner from a camp used to producing winners.
DJ Jaymob & Ruste Juxx – Listen To This Shit Again (Video)
Who brings it more tough bars than Ruste Juxx? No One. He is tireless, relentless, and keeps delivering that raw hip hop for the masses. This time he does so over a DJ Jaymob banger. The two are very much in sync with bars and production. Top notch hip hop.
You can find this record on DJ Jaymob’s project, Paying Homage To Hip Hop. That’s a direct to purchase item, so support good hip hop.
Skanks the Rap Martyr – Double Cross Ranch (ft. Ruste Juxx & Ren Thomas) (Video)
A new video for one of my favorite track from Skanks The Rap Martyr. This joint has always been a standout with hard hitting production from DJ Kanzer, and guest bars from Ren Thomas and Ruste Juxx. So many great bars on this joint, with a few of my favorite artists, but Skanks’ verse has so many gems in it. This is one of my favorite verses ever because of how much truth he inflicts here.
…but that’s a privilege still / some’ll set you up and get you killed / fake love will fuck you up way more than trust ever will / for real take it from the Martyr / so don’t say that I didn’t warn ya / just cuz they in your circle don’t mean them n*@#as in your corner / I ain’t hating on dudes my n*@#a I’m just stating the truth / but the truth sounds like hate to people who hate the truth / so let me teach you what I was taught when I was younger / never burn long term bridges for short term hunger
Don’t sleep! Skanks’ pen game is elite. You can actually find Double Cross Ranch on the 2021 project, M.O.S.T.
Boot Camp Clik – Wotcha Call Strength (Video)
This is just special! The Boot Camp Click back together again, and delivering their sound with ‘strength’. They are picking up right where they left off decades ago with an incredibly hard hitting song, Wotcha Call Strength.
Ruste Juxx starts it off with one of the toughest verses of the year, then followed by an equally vicious bevy of bars from Rockness Monsta. And it doesn’t stop there and just continues to the very last bar.
The Arcitype laces the perfect beat for this posse cut. Top Notch from the opening bell.
Single You Out: Pawz One – Wage War (ft. Ruste Juxx and Copywrite)
New banger from Pawz One accompanied on the mic by Ruste Juxx and Copywrite. Produced by Preed One, this joint isn’t dark and grimy, but more uptempo yet it still knocks those speakers out! Very reminscent of some late 1990s or early 2000s posse cuts. Really dope song for you to be nodding your head to. The venerable Tone Spliff is on the cuts!
Single You Out: Rock – Shark Tank (ft. Steel x Ruste Juxx)
New single from Rock’s upcoming album, Ether Rocks. Shark Tank features Boot Camp bars a plenty from Rock, Steel, and Ruste Juxx over some violin inspired boom bap from producer Ron Browz who produces the enitre forthcoming project. This joint is as tough as you would expect when hearing this line up, and I anticpate more of the same from the album. It’s an auto-cop.
Ruste Juxx – But For Now (Video)
Ruste Juxx and DJ Views link up for a strong street banger, with the video single, But For Now. And Juxx always asserts a powerful mic presence no matter the beat he is riding, and he’s been doing that time and time again. The definition of ill consistency. Here DJ Views links him up with something quite heavy. Elite talent showing out in timeless fashion. I hope this is the first single for a bigger project between two.
Ruste Juxx x Napoleon Da Legend x DJ Nixon – Crack Down (prod. by DJ Duke) (Video)
Dope production from the much respected DJ Duke (RIP) featuring the contrasting styles of Napoleon Da Legend and Ruste Juxx. Production features different cascading keys and some hard hitting drums, while DJ Ni’xon chops it up at the end putting that cherry on the top of a dope hip hop track. This is that rough and rugged boom bap flavor.
