Aye Wun – You Won’t Be Around Next Year (ft. Rick Gonzalez) (Video)

Aye Wun and Rick Gonzalez take shots at those ‘flash-on-the-pan’ artists who are just the flavor of the month type rappers.   They don’t have the longevity to make in this game.  Aye Wun on the other hand has his name whirlwinding through cities with guest spots on Eff Yoo, Spit Gemz, and Stavin B’s albums amongst others.  I can’t wait to see what he has in store for the rest of 2014.

Note:

I saw AG Da Coroner make comments on Twitter a few weeks ago suggesting that some underground fans didn’t like Crushed Grapes because it wasn’t all just “hot bars”.   I couldn’t fathom it when I read it, so I feel obligated to set people straight.  This project is full of not only  top notch bars, but also production, guest shots, and content.  There’s really no other way to put  it.  I have never heard the Coroner make anything remotely soft or borderline and to suggest this project is less than stellar seems sacrilegious in the house of hip hop.

Single You Out: Rome Clientel – Champions (ft. Realm Reality & Skyzoo) (prod. DJ Concept)

photo

Rome Clientel is back with another single from the The Empire 3: Coronation project that has a set date of October 14th (which isn’t that far now). The cut, entitled Champions,  finds Rome trading bars with New York lyricists Realm Reality (Infamous) and Skyzoo over production from DJ Concept.  When you have some many talented individuals involved in a cut, it’s impossible for it to be considered anything less than a win.

I think it needs to also be said here that DJ Concept is killing it as of late.  He has had his hand in a number of different projects with a variety of artists and they all come out tight.    Just trying to recognize a major contributor to hip hop when I see one…
