Single You Out: Swollen Members – Bank Job

Swollen Members are back together and making music.  This is good news for hip hop fans.  There are few emcees that have developed the chemistry that is exhibited between MadChild and Prevail.  Aspect is on the production.

I am pretty sure there is a new album in the works, and we will bring you more information as we receive it.

Swollen Members – Power (Video)

The Swollen Members realize that we all crave the ‘power’ and they deliver that message with a high energy track that hits with an impact.   This is all a prelude to build the anticipation for their new album, Brand New Day.   As an aside, I particularly like The Coup reference that Prevail uses in his verse for us old school heads.

Single You Out: Swollen Members – Supreme Beings (ft. DJ D-Rec)

A resurgent Swollen Members crew is about to set it off with another album, Brand New Day,  in about a month. and though not a part of the project, this is just a little teaser of what to expect.  I like the fact that DJ D-Rec got to mix it up on the track, giving this cut that little something extra to go from good to great.  Prevail and Madchild are back mixing their Battle Axe wordplay and haven’t lost one step . So ‘keep the doors locked, and the dead bolts fastened’.

Sometimes it’s not fair to judge an emcee or a group on that original sound as things are supposed to evolve.  But I am only human, and in the case of Beautiful Death Machine,  Madchild, Prevail, and Rob The Viking have come full circle.

Swollen Members – Almost Famous (Video)

I am now enthralled with the idea of listening to Swollen Member’s new album, Beautiful Death Machine.  With their previous albums I was teased with some dope singles in where the album never really lived up to those examples.  But every track I have heard from the album thus far has been of exceptional quality with Almost Famous rounding out the group.
