The Fix from Macabeats and Cool FD’s project, Pardon My French, gets the remix treatment. Macabeats’ flow is on clear display for all to hear on this track while Cool FD reworks the headnodder. The first run through was a win and I think this second time is a flawless victory. Peep the project if you have not already done so.
Single You Out: These Handz – New World Order (ft. Jmega, Don Streat & Macabeats)
These Handz is comprised of producer Sparkii Ski and DJ Grazzhoppa and they are all about that boom bap hip hop flavor. We have here two mixes of the same song but they are both banging so I wanted to feature both. I have mentioned Grazzhoppa countless times on here and he has never been a part of a bad project or song. Everything he has done has been the premium project.
On this song we have JMega from True Masterz rocking with Don Streat and Macabeats from the Animal Pak. It’s lyrically fire which blends perfectly with the fire of the production and scratching. The remix from Mighgawd is more of a down tempo pace that has more of a rock influenced flavor behind it but it’s dope nonetheless. Make sure you give these a listen.
Animal Pak – No Mistakes (Video)
The Animal Pak is a nine man collective who unite on this track to set the official definition of the term ‘posse cut’. If I had to pick a favorite verse I would put it on Senica Da Misfit on the strength of that Jodi Arias line. But good gravy each of these emcees sets this mic ablaze.
This track is off of the mixtape, Animal Planet, which is available now at the extremely affordable price of 5 duckets.
Cool FD x Macabeats – The Fix (cuts by DJ Grazzhoppa)
Cool FD and Macabeats are back at it again with their new cut, The Fix. These guys are good and I mean really good. I don’t know these artists on a day in, day out basis but I can appreciate the work ethic and the talent they collaborate with and the consistency with which they do it. Working with DJ Grazzhoppa is always a win and I mention him every chance I get, because working with him gives your track a definitive boost. The track is smooth, yet bangs, while Macabeats drops some jewels:
…Keep it a 100 jack/ I’m trying to get my numbers back / Seven beats a week, chop a sample like a lumberjack / And when I start bubble Ima double back / Tell the haters Hi, then I run it back…It’s Mac!
Single You Out: Don Streat x SlumPritt x Mitch L. Hennessy x Macabeats – Sand In The Streets (prod. by Cool FD)
Only Cool FD cold mingle this horn into the darkness of the drums and then switch it up into more of a jazzy flavor. Really dope (yet intricate) work from behind the boards. Also, the combination of Streat, Pritt, Hennessy, and Macabeats with that Cool FD flavor has really become something formidable. They are cultivating a sound of their own and I hope this continues to grow into some sort of full length project. It could be the showstopper of the year (hint, hint)
Macabeats x Cool FD – Pardon My French Intro (Video)
Here’s a video single from the Orleans, France and Baltimore , Maryland collaboration, Pardon My French. Macabeats handles the M-I-C while Cool FD is the man in charge of the boards. The album is made up of that dusty, jazzy, boom-bap that heads around the world will appreciate, so make sure you cop that!
Single You Out: Macabeats x Cool FD – The Grind (ft. Dready Kruger x Mic Handz x Dirt Platoon)
Another single released from Pardon My French, which is the collaborative effort from Macabeats and Cool FD. And they bring plenty of heavy artillery to assist on the mic in the personas of Dready Kruger, Mic Handz, and Dirt Platoon. Definitely peep the album…
Single You Out: Macabeats x Cool FD – The City (ft. Ahhabyam)
Are you guys ready for this album? Cool FD is channeling his inner Hall & Oates with this smooth saxophone filled track. This is one of those ‘lean back and chill’ kind of joints. You can sit back and absorb what Macabeats is spittin’. When this album drops it’s definitely going to be a coming out party for both Cool FD and Macabeats. People are going to have to recognize the talent of both individuals b/c every track I have heard from the duo has been excellent. Pardon My French is hitting in three days.
Single You Out: Macabeats x Cool FD – Pardon My French
This is the title track from Macabeats and Cool FD’s collaborative album dropping on January 20th. This joint definitely builds anticipation for the full project. Macabeats has a very crisp and smooth delivery and I love the sound Cool FD crafted within the scale of his production. This is definitely a good way to set off 2014.
Producer’s Spotlight: Cool FD (2013)
I am way behind in giving credit to some of my favorite producers so I wanted to play a little catch up and introduce you all to another favorite producer of mine, Cool FD. I first bore witness to Cool FD’s skill level as a producer when he was concocting beats for the likes of Don Streat and Macabeats. At the time he was rocking under the pseudonym of, Keno Beats and just recently came up with the name change.
I think Cool FD is a breath of fresh air in this hip hop business. He is two parts boom bap and one part soul. Or maybe it’s two parts soul, and one part boom bap? I will let you decide. The point is that this is a producer you need to keep your ears pinned back for. As a matter of fact he has a project dropping with Don Streat on October 15th entitled Bare My Soul. If you want to hip him up, you can catch him on Twitter, Facebook, or his Blog. Make sure you check the tracks below!
